First event ever on R-Compounds.
Losing to a National Champ I'm okay with that.
Watch out next time.

Go all out on the throttle.
No coasting ever.
Downshift to first if you have to.
Pay attention to your air pressures.
Chalk your tires or check tire temperatures with a probe.
Try not to over brake- be easy on the brake to not to loose too much speed.
Launch strongly with lots of Gs but don't spin your wheels.
Make sure you have an autocross alignment- zero to 1/16" toe out in front and zero toe in the rear. As much negative camber in the rear as possible if you can adjust it (2005 or later models).
Use a new air filter for events- try a foam or Green filter over a stock one.
Use a CG lock for your seatbelt.
Always drive close to the cones- about 3 inches from them but not on them.
Look far ahead to the next element so you have more time to set up.
Always walk the course as many times as you can- three is good.
Always make a map of the course and come up with a plan of attack.
Always adjust your approach as you drive each run and watch what others are doing right or wrong.
Always drive later in the run to allow others to post times to beat and lay down rubber in the right places for you to drive on.
Drink enough water to not be dehydrated.
Eat enough to not feel faint.
Keep out of the sun/wear a hat and sunscreen.
Have fun no matter what.
Win or loose with grace.
It's fun to win by a couple thousandths of a second but it's humbling to realize how slim that margin really is.
* 1 millisecond (one-thousandth of a second) - This is the typical fastest time for the exposure of film in a normal camera. A picture taken in 1/1,000th of a second will usually stop all human motion.
* 1 centisecond (one-hundredth of a second) - The length of time it takes for a stroke of lightning to strike
* 1 decisecond (one-tenth of a second) - A blink of an eye
* 1 second - An average person's heart beats once each second.

That's all? Easy.
