First Solo, Smoking at Idle

We bought a 2009 Cooper S to autocross, and jumped in immediately without knowing anything. 116,000 miles, good compression. After 5 runs, blue smoke started coming out the exhaust at idle. Cleared out on acceleration. Engine light came on after 10 runs, so put it on the trailer. Local mechanic cleared code--turbo indication. Had a great time--want to be ready for spring. Direction? Where do we start finding our issue?

First things first, check your intake valves for carbon build-up. A Walnut Shell cleaning might be in order.

what's your location? I'd have a mini specific shop check it out if you have one in the area (not the dealership)
