17x7 Wheels for JCW in DS
Hello people, I am looking for a good light weight wheel in the stock size 17x7 that fits over the JCW brakes with no centering rings or spacers required. Got suggestions? What are people running?
I like the RSe05 from NM but unfortunately they are 17x7.5 which would technically be out of DS. Anyhow I would like to hear what your running and where you bought them! |
RPF1s are popular. There are some Kosei wheels that fit the bill for a little less money and some Motegis that are even less money. The RPF1s are the lightest I believe.

I have and '07S. Running the RFP1's but they need centering rings. No spacer needed for my application. Don't know if I've heard of an reasonably priced aftermarket wheel that does not require centering rings, but am not wheel expert. Why is it that you don't want rings? I have had no problem with installation or changing of wheels multiple times in the season. A call to Tire Rack or other big wheel retailer could get you the information you want. |
I had 16x7's mounted and balanced for free with Hankooks shipped by TireRack to my door. Just visit the website and "shop" by vehicle for a tire and wheel package. The centering rings stay in the wheel. No hassle.

I have read stories about people having trouble with rings during track days. It's one extra piece I don't want to screw with.
I can't run 16's because they don't fit over the JCW brakes. No 17x7 aftermarket fit? Otherwise I just may get a second set of challenge spoke or something even though they are heavy. |
Nothing wrong with centering rings as long as they're made of metal and not plastic.

Does tire rack give metal centering rings? Also are these verified to clear the JCW brakes? |

Ok cool, I've read stories of guys getting those fused to the hubs. I like the looks and price of the enkei's. The weight is nice too. Does tire rack give metal centering rings? Also are these verified to clear the JCW brakes? Sent from my Nexus 10 using NAMotoring |
Hmm so I see some wheels on out motoring. Team dynamics pro 1.2. Looks like I should be able to get an exact match 17.x lbs. Good enough for me. I put an email into out motoring.

The rings tire rack provides are plastic.

I got Enkei RPF1 from TireRack. I also ring them and ask if they can get me metal rings, they send them for free.
