Anybody running 17x8"+35 rims on there countryman?

I have some firestone indy's 235/50/17r's to mount, did a test fitting and it looks real snug... with my 17x8" rims...

I think you will be fine. I run 235/55/17 on 17x7.5 et42 wheels. You will stick out about 1/2" more than this:

I also, just this past weekend put on OEM 18" fan spokes that are 18x7.5 et52 with 245/45/18s. I am saying this to note this combo is even taller than yours and clears the inner wheel well out back and front strut by maybe a few millimeters. Works just fine.

Thanks for the input, I decided to go with 7.5" width rims after I tried them on....

Just to add to the feedback...

I run 17x8.5" ET40 wheels with 245/45-17 tires. My setup is pretty aggressive, needed to trim when I lowered the car with coilover, not with the stock suspension.

My camber settings are -2.2 F/ -2 R. I also have 5mm spacers up front.

8" wide wheels typically fit well, especially when matched with 235 tires. 245 tires and certain offsets (depending on wheel width) is where it tends to get challenging. Also depending on ride height.

yeah i'm running 17x7.5 et35 w/ 225/55/17 tires, and I feel like that's pushing it without it looking dumb. I'm on stock suspension.
