More than winter questions - soft off-road

Greetings: I have 2014 Countryman S with the run flats. I am in the Chicago-area so we have real winters. I thinking tires that not only work well in the winter but are useful on gravel and dirt roads. We fly fish and are often on unpaved roads. We ran Michelin LTX tires on our Honda Element and they worked well in the snow, dirt and mud. I was thinking of purchasing LTX's again but was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a snow + soft off-road tire?

Second question: in getting rid of the run flats and since the Mini does not have a spare, what do you recommend for a sealant + compression system?

More than winter questions - soft off-road

i am using dunlop grandtrek sj6 studless ice and snow AT (all-terrain) tires in size 205/70R16

excellent winter tires and great in mud and gravel/dirt roads

i have run them the last 3 winters plus off-road and expect at least 1 more winter

they are very inexpensive at $83 each from tirerack

i carry a plug kit and compressed CO2 for flats as both my summer and winter tires are non-rfs

Thanks. Those are very much the type of tire that I am looking for.

FWIW - a plug kit won't work for me as my wife loves to drive our Countryman.

205/70-16 fits? I am looking at Tirerack and it does not seem to be a compatible size.

Edit: you must have a different set of rims. I am running the standard 205/50-17. Tirerack suggested that I consider 225/50-17.

Post-Script: none of the Michelin LTX's fit. I spent quite some time talking to a rep at Tirerack and I seem to farther away from finding tires.
