If you look at mine they almost have a \=/ look and if you add 1/4" to each side I think you will have a |=| look. I think the tire to rim recommendation is for the performance of the tire ( cushion and flex ). I think it will look clean

Still debating if I should take the chance...according to Fedex its gonna arrive tmr, if I decide to exchange for some 7" I have to catch the delivery boy at my front doorstep and tell him I'm going to refuse delivery so pkg can return back to TireRack.
actually 1/4" on each side shouldn't be a big deal, I'm just worried because if it turns out bad she's gonna stuck with that ugly setup for the next couple years...

I know what you mean. It's a lot of money and you want it to be right the first time, and that's really hard when all you have is numbers and no visual. I can tell you my wife's set up fits great except for the clearance to the rear wheel front mud flap and that little bit of scraping noise when the rear unwieghts is upsetting to her. modifying vehicles always come at a cost so damage control is a big factor, especially when it's your wife's car your modifying.

My wife runs that thing at 100mph down a three lane highway dodging traffic with no ill effects. It is a little "twitchy" when on the binders and turning sharp. You can feel the flex in the side wall on twisties if you pushing it or have to correct at high speed but still handles far better than most wallowing vans and SUVs I have been in

Yes, it will handle better then most all truck I have driven. Those tires have a large sidewall so I wondered about the flex. Also since not too many countryman owners are running those tire and are lifted. You are in the new dimension of the Countryman.

Thanks for the information. Always curious on the changes.

Have you taken to an off road track ?

Yeah true, I decide to take the chance and try to see how it turns out.

Almost there...

BTW have you tried to take the rear wheel front mud flap off?

Ecs tuning: no we haven't had it off road yet (couple fire roads and curbs is all) but if you can recommend a place near western va we will give it a go

Ncraig: I haven't taken them off. I think the work as a good buffer for the qtr panel and they haven't really shown wear it's more of the noise

I'm running 215/65/17's and ended up taking off the front mud flaps on the rear wells.

They were hitting too much going over a forest road and rubbing on the center hex head screw.

Not bouncing around on the same road. Haven't heard or seen rubbing since removal.

Without it though, we'll see how the NW slushy snow gets jammed up in there since I tucked the wheel well cover behind the frame lip that's in front of the rear wheels.

After doing the CC lift, has anyone tried doing some 18x8.5 with a 35 offset ATX Ravines with 255/55r18 Nitto Grappler G2s yet?

What size of tires? and what offset are those wheels running? Did you stay with the 16 inchers? They look bigger than 215/70r16, and which wheels did you end up with.

Wow, I was thinking of doing the 18x9 XD811 RS2 wheels with a 255/55r18 Nitto Grappler G2, which would be 2 inches taller than those. Hmmmm.
