General G-MAX AS-03

Has anyone here had experience with General G-MAX AS-03 tires? I'm thinking of using them on my Countryman in 215/50-17. They seem to have pretty good online reviews and a rather aggressive tread pattern. The price is definitely right at $99 per tire. Just wanted to see if there was any personal experience with them here.

The tire they replaced was well regarded... I have a set..good bang for the buck tire... Likely will Be buying these next spring/summer when they are worn out.
Life was not great...but good ride, decent grip, even in the rain... good even wear. Generals usually have daily soft sidewalls...so if not for that, I think some might use them on the track.

I've got them. I replaced my runflats with them. I have them on my 19's. I was skeptical but was pleasantly surprised at their performance, especially in the snow. I was able to get through 6 inches of snow no problem.

So you can get a sense of them on the car...

Have them on my r53, besides pot holes that swallow the mini whole and gave the tires bubbles snow, rain, dry good traction. Not bad for a realitively cheap tire

Thanks for the input. I know that General is owned by Continental, which is what my car came with. The combination of price, handling, and tread pattern are making me think these tires are the way to go when I "re-shoe" in a couple of months.

Just to follow up with the performance of these tires, I've been driving through a foot of snow here in NY with zero problems. Great traction.

Cool! Thanks for the update. The only change in my plans is with regard to size. I just ordered a set of 19" wheels for my Countryman, so I'll be getting the tires in 225/40-19 size, which is the factory size with JCW wheels. Fortunately, these tires do come in that size.

I went up to 225/45's that fit great and filled the wheel well nicely IMO, since i won't be lowering the car.
