Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport ??

Anyone have these come on their CM?

I got them with mine but put the winters directly on so I am wondering if anyone has any feed back on theirs.

Tom,

They're OEM on mine. So far so good. Got a 'lil over 2700 miles with them now and still impressed. Excellent wet traction. Driven them all day on a rainy day at highway speed and was impressed how they handled on wet road.

Do you mind me asking y you're asking?

Well we had a Base loaner with Continental RF on them and found them great. Ride quality was about the same as our winter setup now.

I am keeping the factory 18" as our winter wheels and ordering some aftermarket for the summer. I have read alot of bad reviews on the Dueler, people saying bad tread life and high road noise. They do look nice and are supposed to have great wet weather traction like you said.

Since I have the stock rubber sitting in my garage I am thinking of sticking with 18" for my aftermarket summers as well. If the real work reviews are crap then I might step up to a 19" set.

What to do what to do?

I have same and am keeping fingers crossed that they'll be OK at least for this winter (Pittsburgh winters have some snow and ice). I'm really not wanting to buy winter tires this year (car's <2 months old). ALL4 so I'm hoping to get through this winter and then planning to get winter wheels for next winter (did same with my Clubman S).

Any thoughts? Do you folks think I can get away with it or am I doomed thinking Duelers will be OK for 1 winter?

I would be careful. I never had them on but I know they do not have any snow rating. Anything near freezing and they will loose traction.

In the past 3 weeks we've had our CMS we've had our Duelers in fresh snow, and now ice. On fresh snow in a parking lot they broke away very quickly, but predictably. So in that scenario passable for very short distance travel...

...but on icey and cold (18-25 degrees F) roads yesterday morning I barely had any traction. Once on the highway they were fine, but all the side streets it was like I was on bald tires. So I wouldn't recommend long trips in snow storms on these. Granted I don't have ALL4, but awd is only good when you want to get going. When it comes to stopping awd is the same as fwd. I'm trying to pick a good snow tire as I write this actually.

Careful is the operating word. Considering that the tires are performance summer tires, your biggest enemy is the cold. Other than that, they'll fare or will be ok on wet surface. Be careful...

I've been very happy with those as my OEM summer tyre but switched to the OEM optional Blizzak LM25s for the winter. (But we've hardly even had a frost yet!)

I know this an old thread and all but I was wondering if you ever had to take your duelers off for the winter. My countryman came with the duelers and I almost killed myself at the first light snowfall. These tires are downright dangerous in adverse conditions. I have letter in to mini about this as I was never told when purchasing this car that I wouldn't be able to drive it 6 months of the year.

I currently on my second set with these tires. They're the best run flat options IMHO. I've driven hem in slush snow with no issue under normal speed...

CAREFUL is the operative word for sure, in caps. Got mine in August ('14 JCW with Duelers) and loved it all until the cold/snow hit last week. Third JCW Mini in 10 years, always ran all-seasons, and was as surprised as Metroman when the first cold/snow hit. This is supposed to be our snow car, but leaving it in the garage 'til I can get all-seasons put on next week. Better control on skis than the Duelers in snow and 20sF.

iam not happy about this at all. I have written a letter to mini about this issue. I don't see how this our issue. In my case, (not JCW) but a all4 cold weather package car and no all season. The dealer never said anything. How do you sell a car that is usable for one season!

I purchased a set of take off stock wheels to use in the winter when I take off the JCW 19s and these tires were on the wheels. I was also expecting all season tires but for winters in Texas they work fine. Overall they have been really good but they are summer tires. I was told you had the option to select the all seasons or these when the car was purchased.
