Manic tune stage 2

Hi, just wanted to see who all is running a stage 2 manic tune and what mods you all had done prior to the tune. On mini dynamics website it states all of the "prerequisites" needed for the tune and I have all except for a catless dp. I have an akrapovic dp though and didn't know if that would be acceptable. Would love to hear what you all are running. Thanks!

The Akrapovic DP will do fine and I would remove the 2nd cat. Doing a catless DP would yield more HP, cooler temps and deeper sound, but you are good.
Always use the highest octane possible and keeping your Minj serviced frequently. I encourage oil changes twice as often of what the dealer suggest.
You will love the tune.

I have the full Akrapovic exhaust including DP and I'm running the Stage 2+ Manic tune. Exhaust temps are ok mainly around 1250F-1350F with peaks less than 1450F during really hard driving.

I have the 2+ tune, with catless dp. I have all suggested parts plus forge recirculating valve. It's amazing, you'll love it. You should be fine with aftermarket dp, are you getting cel from it? Won't matter with tune, but just curious.

Thanks for all of the replies, guys.

The akrapovic was giving me a code but it's suppressed using a can tool.

Are you having good luck with the forge recirc valve and the tune playing nice together? I've heard mixed things/people having the forge BOV throw soft codes due to the valve staying closed. But they were all running stage 3. Just curious.

I'm running the recirculation valve, not a bov. I haven't had any trouble with it at all. I like have a mechanical valve instead of the stock ecu controlled one. The ecu still thinks it's in control and hasn't thrown a tantrum yet.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I'd like to get one for the added boost it will be under and like the idea of the mechanical accusation, just wanted to make sure there weren't a ton of issues so far.

The plug from the ecu into the one from forge doesn't fit quite right. Takes a little trimming.

I agree with this. A small file will do the trick

I have an akra dp and had a stage 2 installed today. It's awesome man.

How do I put it...

Before, when pulling onto the hwy...I could always feel when I was around 65-70. The mini felt like it just didn't want to pull anymore...and I would know I was at about the right cruising speed.

Today...after the tune, I pulled onto the hwy, and that 'feeling' was not there in the slightest. I looked down and I was reaching 90--not exaggerating. D**n near pooped myself...again, not exaggerating...as I was in Virginia and VA State Troopers don't play.

Thank God there wasn't one around though...I would've been hosed for sure. And I would be holding big bubba's pocket tonight as I'm an unassuming Asian man that does NOT know karate.

Haha that's awesome. That "almost pooping myself" feeling is what I'm looking for.

What other mods are you running?

haha, don't get me wrong...the near accidental bowel movement was more from the thought of getting caught by a VA state trooper going that fast. (In case you don't know...reckless driving in VA is automatic jail time).

The mods I've got are a Forge IC, k&n intake, akrapovic dp, and the full oem turbo back Challenge mini exhaust. I also needed those colder spark plugs too, so I had those thrown in.

Typically map A is 1.3bar, B is 1.4bar and C is 1.5 bar.

sound are nice and loud after 3000rpm love it.

Just compare before and after QS seem oversize for stock S turbo.
Now my AT gearbox feel not that smooth than before....low rpm only noise

2.5" should be ok for the stock Krispy Kreme turbo. 3" forsure will kill it. I have NM and I really liked their quality and design of their products and i like the tips on the NM exhaust as it fill the JCW kit on the R60 nicely.

Strange is making the car not as smooth. I mean you are going up just 0.1" in piping from the NM. Give it a few days and drive around yr style and let the ECU learn it and see if it gets better

NM quality really better than QS. but the size different between it NM 2.36" catback connected to oem 2.17" center pipe and QS was 2.25" start from DP, so not just large 0.1"

I also think just little bit bigger size wont cause big problem before I buy QS.
