Name tags for our next event?
Hi all,
It was mentioned by a couple that name tags would have been nice. Especially since we have forum names, real names, cars, and their names to keep straight.
While I personally don't like wearing them I can see the benefits being worthwhile for the aforementioned reasons.
What are your thoughts?
Also, rather than sticky labels I thought button pins may be appropriate. Plus, reusable. Thoughts on this as well are appreciated.

I like the thought of being able to see people's forum user names and real names. But, I'm also not a fan of wearing a sticky name tag all day. I would happily pay for a button though. What about window decals that are the cling type, that just have your name and username? Then we could stick them on the driver's side window of our MINIs when we are getting together, and take them off when we aren't. I'm not sure you can order something like that, but possibly. My other idea is that we all get our forum names tattoed to our foreheads...

Hobby Lobby and Michael's have the clear snap-together buttons in sizes of 3.5" and 2.25". I'm thinking 3.5" may be to large. I did buy one of each, however. They're inexpensive and Hobby Lobby sells them in bags.
For the actual label I had a thought before Jim posted his. The "owner's club" badge with the names curved around the outside similar to the writing on that badge. Maybe be too much curved writing, though. Other ideas are welcome.
Whichever way we go I'll need some help with the artwork. My Photoshop skills and GIMP skills are weak. I only have the latter to play with.

I like the idea of a badge/pin/lanyard also. Not real favorable of a stickon either. OK with just a window stockon possibly also.
I do like the idea of a Mini image on the name tag if possible. Now when I see a Mini around town, I'm trying to think if I remember that Mini and who the owner is now (which is pretty hard to do with my memory).
I would be glad to help with any graphics. I just happened to download Gimp yesterday since all my older original graphics programs I used to use are probably too old to use on Windows 7 and can't afford to upgrade them. So right now I just barely started with Gimp but hoping it won't be too hard to familiarize myself with it.
If we can get a basic of what we might want and what type of media we are going to create (pin, badge, etc), we could grab individuals signatures or provided images and create the items. At least start with the ones that have signed up for the meet (and have some empty blank ones that can be created for last minute joiners).

We don't really need to settle for just one option.
If some would like to bring lanyards with there own card and card holder that's fine.
I'm willing to provide the snap together buttons and find a place to print out the "badge" for them since that would be relatively inexpensive.
And if others absolutely had to have the stickons they can bring those too.

Awesome! PM sent.
This endevour shouldn't be too much. The plastic buttons are inexpensive and I can't see it costing to much to print them out. But I haven't been to Kinko's lately so you never know...

{This is a cross post from the Missouri Valley ride topic}
Ok, this is what Ray and I came up with for Name Tags. We could possibly change this based on other ideas later but for this weekends event this should work as a start. To complete the tags for everyone that plans on attending this weekend, please provide me the following information:
Forum Name:
First Name:
State: (if other than Nebraska)
Mini color description and type:
Mini name {new addition that I may put on the name tag if possible}
I'm pulling the pictures from the "What If" link if I can find a matching color based on your MINI's description.
I need this information ASAP so I can have time to grab the images and do the final printing of the name tags. We have plastic holders with neck cords. But if you wish to supply your own lanyard, you could do so. The ones we have are just basic thin white cords.
Here is an example of what they will look like: The Spouses name will have the same forum name but with the - BF following it (Better Half) unless anyone has any objections to that.
