C.O.R.N Invited to join BMWCCAMVC

All CORN members,
Recently I attended the Lincoln Kiwanis Kannonball Road Rally. I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Gomen. Jeff is the President of the Missouri Valley Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America.
Jeff and I had opportunity to talk about our perspective clubs and how to further grow our numbers here in Nebraska. After a few minutes Jeff offered to invite CORN Club members to the BMW Clubs 4th Annual Summer Membership Party.
You can check out the clubs web site at www.bmwccamvc.org

Yesterday Jeff sent me the following invite to pass along to the members of C.O.R.N. Jeff only asks that you RSVP soon so that he can get enough food and beverage for all attendants.

Hope to see several of you there.

Summer Membership Party

Join us for our 4th Annual Summer Membership Party on Sunday August 26th, 2007 from noon to 6 pm. The festivities will once again be held at the home of Dr. Tom and Vonnie Gomon, 6330 Black Forest Drive in Lincoln (near Lazlo’s on Old Cheney Blvd. and Hwy 2 off South 62nd St.). Burgers, brats, soda and sides will be provided by the Chapter. Adult beverages are at your discretion. Enjoy darts, foosball, billiards, the swimming pool and hot tub. We’ll be showing Chapter videos and perhaps the F1 Turkish Grand Prix on the big screen. Bring the kids and your significant other. If you have someone you think might be interested in joining the club, bring them along, too. This is one event you don’t want to miss.
If it rains, we move inside so rain or shine the event goes on. Please RSVP by either calling Jeff Gomon at 402.421.8299 (home) or by sending an email to rsvp@bmwccamvc.org.
We hope to see you there!

Yeah I'll be there too, should be fun. And the South Dakota trip sounds like it would be lots of fun too and its pretty cheap. So I might have to do that also.

I've made my plans also to be there. If you do want to do a caravan to Lincoln just name the place and time.

I tried sending my RSVP to the rsvp@bmwccamvc.org but my email got rejected. Something about being over Quota?

A couple of mentions of a caravan, but no times noted. What time was everyone thinking of being in Lincoln?

Hey can you all call me when you get to lincoln so that way I know when to go over or I can meet you all somewhere. My number is 402.730.8979. And I'd say they best way to get to the place from Omaha is take I-80 and get off at the Waverly Exit 409 and then take hwy 6 to 84th street and go south till Pioneers and the turn west and go to Black Forest Drive, heres a map on google http://http://maps.google.com/maps?f...0899&z=12&om=1
thats if you want......

Since no location has been mentioned, how about 11:30-12:00 (leave at 12:00) from the Phillips 66 Station (I believe it's a Phillips 66 right by the hotel) on I-80 and Hwy 370 exit.

Does that sound like a plan?

My Cell Phone if needed is 290-7209.

Will give you a call as soon as we are pulling off at the Waverly exit. If you want to meet somewhere let me know at that time and we can meet you. If wanted to, you could meet us at that first gas station (can't remember if it's a Flying J or something else but I think it's on the corner of Hwy 6 and 84th street). I know its where the Motorcycle Patriot Guards usually meet up when we are coming into Lincoln for a mission.

I am in omaha this morning. I would like to meet up with you guys. I only have James' number with me. How about meeting at the flying J truck stop in Gretna? I am at 60th and Center right now. Could meet all you Omaha folks out there around noon.

Call me to confirm as my wifi is questionable at best.

Thanks all for attending. I think we made an impression. Best quote of the day....."You all have such amazing looking MINIs". I look for more things to come from this partnership in the future.
Hope to see some more of you at the Black Hills Run. I will post a thread about this event soon. I would recomend getting your membership to BMWCCA paid up soon so that we show our support.
That is all......

It was a fun time. My wife commented on how this was the first time she's been around so many car enthusiasts, and how in comparison - I don't seem so crazy now.

I thought it was cool to get the invite, and enjoyed meeting everyone. My wife and I are looking at getting the time cleared for the Black Hills Run.

Ryan,
You bet I will post something soon so everyone can download the image and print them or change them how they want.
I really want to do the schools also. I may try my hand at auto-x on the 7th as well.

I wish I could do that Black Hills run later this fall but i just cant, I have tried every option I can short of quiting. I hope you all have fun and bring back many stories and pictures. I second joining BMWCCA they are a great local group and I can see us using their wealth of knowledge to help us grow CORN.

Zyamfier- where/when is this auto-X you speak of?

Ryan- thanks for the kind words on the CAI, I Love it!!!

Auto-x of which I speak

James and anyone else watching. Here is the link for Nebraska Region Sports Car Club of America or www.nrscca.com The following is the event I speak on on Sunday the 9th CLICK HERE I will be bringing the trailer and EZ-up as well as a cooler so if you are looking for some shade and a place to hang out between runs by all means bring a chair and we can all congregate together.
I will bring both of my helmets if you are short that item.

Whaa you have helmets? Thats one thing I really want to buy for next year. And Jim you beat me to it I was gonna make a post about the Auto-X this weekend. I think everyone should come to this, its a really fun time and you get to throw your MINI around some cones. I'm also gonna have to remember to bring my chairs. The SCCA also has loaner helmets to use. And one more thing you don't have to be a member to participate, but remember to bring your license. So whoever reads this come out to Lincoln.
