Which Midlands tranny are you talking about? The stock tranny is either a midlands or getrag depending on the year of the car. The midlands have crappy sincros. The Getrag is better. It could be rebuilt...that is what minimaniaUK has, a rebuilt midlands that is beefed up with the option of changing the final drive for a nice chunk of money. If anyone could find the stronger sincros or different gears to change the final drive, then you could rebuild it.
