Junkyard S brake swap completed!
I managed to score a lightly used set of pads, rotors and caliper brackets for free from a friend who upgraded to a JCW set so I went for it!
All you need are the brackets from an S. The calipers are the same part number. Slightly larger rotor https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...e9ab39dbf3.jpg Before https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...faeb0af4e3.jpg After https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...7406e0721c.jpg It doesn't look like much and truly I guess it's only a half inch or so of rotor but it seems to make a difference. Anyway, that's what I did with my cooper today! |
More braking power is always good. Did Blue Ridge Parkway Tour a couple of weeks back. In our group that did some off-BRP runs was a Justa. On the curves that car handled really great. Curves really equalize cars.
