5-Speed, Short Throw Shifter

I have a 2005 Mini Cooper R52, 5 Speed. I bought a short throw shifter and had it professionally installed, cuz I was having other work done. He said it didn't fit.....It must be for a 6-Speed.

My question: Have any of you installed one on a 5-Speed? If so, what kind did you get?

The short shifters for the 5 and 6spd are the same. More than likely you have one for the wrong year car that has the wrong size on the end that the cable can't connect to, and the center ball is the wrong size to fit the housing. Here is the correct one for your car
