JCW grill for 2012 cooper (non s)

Any recent updated on a jcw grill for 2012 mini cooper (non s). Or anything similar that is blacked out, with black trim.

Thanks

OutMotoring Has JCS Black Grill ($74.95) for 2012 Base Coopers

***Attention: my oopsie! They have the "ring trim" not the actual grill!****

So my Q below was related to the ring trim:)

My Question:

Want to make sure this fits a 2012 Base (non-S) Cooper Hatchback without any trimming/cutting. Thanks, Tim

Their Answer:

Yes, as long as you select "cooper" from the drop down menu and not the "S" model...

Here is the link:
http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...rill_trim.html

At $75 I may try the plastidip option:(

According to this: http://parts.miniofsouthatlanta.com/...110442012.html

this part number fits the 2012 non S. Anyone tried it? I really want to replace the chrome grill with the black mesh.

BakerStreet37 08-04-2012 08:46 PM

sorry...i gave up on this pretty quick once i saw a few plasti dip videos on youtube. it is incredible stuff...and a novice can do a great job. i just did it today...as well as a bunch of other chrome trim pieces...and it looks great!

I am emailing my MA with this link just to see what he has to say. I've been looking everywhere for a nice grille for my non-S. Everyone keeps telling me to plasti-dip it, but I really don't like the look of the slated grille.

Meboko 08-10-2012 05:14 AM

Who knew that getting stuff for a 2012 Non-S would be so hard.
Got a bra that kinda fits, but not quite...
Can't find a grille. I'm not overly fond of the chrome slats, either.
Curious to see how this turns out.

What was the verdict from your MA? Looking to swap my chrome slats for black mesh too

I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone at my dealership. Another member of NAM is selling me his Cooper S grille and bottom chrome slat to fit on my car. He had a Justa just like us and claims it fit on his car perfectly, so I will try it out and let you guys know.

I should be able to try and install it next weekend!

SCMountaineer 08-25-2012 08:51 PM

Great! Let us know how it turns out. Got black stripes yesterday and now really wanting a black grille

Now

Here is what you need

Cooper S / Cooper S JCW style front grille
Cooper S Lower Grille Trim

Here is the standard chrome trim for the chrome grille - labelled here as a Cooper Diesel. You need to cut the Cooper S trim along the dotted line

I just emailed Aaron from Outmotoring and asked if they'd be interested in making a JCW or Cooper S grill for the 2011+ Coopers and he emailed back saying if the demand is high enough they would do it.

we have been working one of our overseas developers to create a variant grill that will work on the 2011 and newer cooper models but they have not confirmed if they are going to make them or not due to the low potential volumes (they typically want to see many thousands sold as opposed a few hundred)....
