2010 Mini Base Performance

I recently bought a 2010 Mini Cooper base r56. And I love it. But I want to soup it up and add some ooompfff to it. So i am writing this in hopes that somebody or many will lead me in the right direction. Whats the best parts to add to a base mini cooper? Can you add a turbo? If so, where from? What are the best websites to find parts? Thank you. I will post pictures of my murdered out mini. And if anyone lives in Texas and is going to the meeting on saturday the 14th in Dallas please email me.

This should be in the R56 non-s forum! But intake and exhaust are always the places to start with a NA car. The intake would be the first cost effective mod and is very popular among the R50 ownership.

Can you add a turbo to an r56 non-turbo cooper.. yes -- it is expensive...yes -- is it cheaper to buy a cooper s....yes -- that being said you CAN do it, but you will have to be good at fabrication and good at re-working the MINI computer to make it run right. Otherwise there are lots of mods for coopers to increase power output -- intake, exhaust, spark systems, etc.. you just have to look around. I am in the process of playing with mine right now also. The epic battle Speed vs. $$$ vs. Warranty  who will win......
