VIPcustoms Exhaust

Just receiver a email from Van at VIP Customs in reply to their exhaust for the non s R56. They stated they need at least 10 people to contact them about it. So far I am #1 can we get this going so we can actually have another option for an aftermarket exhaust.

Interested depending on what it actually consists of and what it costs. Most non-S R56 parts seem to be half-assed so far.

I've been pretty much waiting since December for them to release it. Now they say that they have been working on the BMW 135 parts due to not enough ppl wanting to put parts on their non s r56.

I emailed him last night after reading tmo8462's post and this is the reply i received:

Thanks for your interest in the standard Cooper exhaust. We
would like to see how many non-s owners would change their O.E.M.
system. I will not release a production date on the system yet. If you
would like to tell us a price that you would pay for a full system
from the first cat- back ( eliminating 2nd cat) for max performance,
that would help. Thanks VIP

So i think we should try and get as many people as possible to email him so that they will make us an exhaust system!

I got the exact same email. What would a good price be? I just know I can make a custom one for about 200 bucks..

I said $300, seeing that the one they make for the "s" is like $550, but I didn't really know what a good price would be.

here are some pics of the non-s performance section. Pics show the rear section of the exhaust only, but it comes from the manifold cat connection back. system is made from Mandrel Bent 2 1/4" 409SS tubing and muffler. muffler design is essentially a magnaflow straight-through type. System is available with or without secondary converter. I have been testing this system for months now; i have noticed increase in MPG, slight bump in HP, revs nicely, and has a great sound. A straight-through resonator remains to eliminate any drone at cruising speeds. Beauty of this system is should you choose to install the Cooper S rear bumper all you need to replace the the rear section. It took me about 1hr to switch the bumper and install the new muffler. any questions message me or email at mufflerexpress@bellnet.ca ; please forgive the dirty pics, the base system was done in the middle of our "salty" winter

That's a very salty winter haha. What's that box for to the left of your muffler where the spare tire would be?

the salt makes a nice mess on the interior too! Yes, exactly, the cover is where the spare "should" be; that is gone now anyway since the muffler now exits in the middle

I think I would probably save up and get the headers, exhaust, and S bumper all in one shot.

Yea he did, I forgot to post it up here is the highlights from the email:

Here are the details of the system. I will send you pics once my
stainless resonators arrive as I want you to see exactly what is included.

-system goes from front manifold converter and back

-specially machined inlet piece to match perfectly with front converter and
work with factory ring clamp
-409 Stainless steel tubing, resonator, muffler and flex connector
-inner-braided HD flex
-high-flow center resonator
-system is made in 2pc and includes special 409SS band clamp to connect the
two pieces( take on and off as much as you want without damaging the pipe)
-rear muffler is a straight-through design with acoustical fibre inside
-exhaust tip is 2 1/4" OD tubing, this is designed so the customer can add
their own tip or keep it as is for a "sleeper" look

Special pricing for NAM members would be,

$220 US - manifold converter back system WITHOUT secondary converter

$299 US - manifold converter back system WITH high flow 200 cell metallic
secondary converter

Shipping anywhere in continental US $35 with UPS ground and insured. We can

also ship to AK, PR, and Hawaii for an additional cost

For models with Cooper S rear bumper pricing to follow,

Holy crap good price. Almost seems too good to be true. I wonder what he would charge without the resonator. Can you post the rest of the email (with the S bumper prices). Thanks!
