VIPcustoms Exhaust
#26
Yea thats exactly what I was thinking! I am pretty sure that I am going to be getting one real soon I just have to decide on whether I want the cat or not.
It was just signed John at the end after the comma. He was saying that he was going to email me with the price of the S exit exhausts, but he hasn't yet.

I'd probably be interested in something like this, however living in Michigan I'd be worried about rust too. I'd also be curious to see if it throws a code, I can't stand driving around in a car with a CEL on. Oh and of course I'd need to hear how it sounds.
The price on it is right though.

Joey I'm running without a 2nd cat right now and I'm not throwing any codes. Also with any car in Michigan you're going to have to worry about rust, no matter of what type of exhaust you have. Im with you on maybe a sound check, Jparch if possible can we get a sound vid? Mack I'd buy but right now I'm going to wait until more info is released I'm with Drew on the legit part. He's been a member on here for a few years now, so that makes me a little less worried about the legit part.

Do it your self. It's free. lol. Hardest part about changing it out will be the clamp at the headers. I've already did a custom exhaust on mine and that was the hardest part and I had my car up on a lift to do this too. It's only about a 1-2 hour job on a lift, with a cool down period before changing it. On stands it might take a little longer due to space.

Dropped VIPcustoms an e-mail... Was a bit disappointed to find the no R56 NA exhausts are available outside of having one made up an an exhaust shop. Hopefully they'll get something out there and it'll be decent.
Would be willing to go around $400-450 depending on materials, quality and sound. Think I paid around that for the Enthuza/Borla exhaust on my Miata - was 2.5" stainless, mandrel bent.
Not committing to anything unless I get to hear it, regardless.
Regarding the removal of the 2nd cat - even if it won't throw a code, is there any real performance gain in removing it vs going with a high-flow cat? Also, can anyone who's actually done it and driven with it awhile confirm that it doesn't leave your rear bumper a mess? Wouldn't want to end up like those "tuners" (*cough*) who drive around with a sooty rear bumper from removing their cats.

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up, stainless resonators will be ready by the end of the week and systems will be ready to ship. We have been in business for over 11yrs selling replacement exhaust and are now slowly getting into select performance systems, we are extremely well known in the wholesale business, that is why only a few posts on the forum, not enough hours in the day. I saw the interest in the non-s systems and had to put it to the top of the list. I will post complete pics, etc and provide any info to any members. Feel free to google us

greinthebox: I'm with you 100% with the disappointment of VIP right now. I emailed them when I 1st got my mini, asking them if they had any plans of making one and that was mid last year and was told that they were expecting to put on out in December, so I went with making my own. To answer your question about removing the cat, I've had my exhaust on now for about 3 to 4 months now. I haven't experienced any "TUNER" soot on my bumper as of yet.

I posted a link to Youtube on the sound from the unit with the Cooper S bumper. It is slightly louder with this setup than with the standard Cooper bumper and muffler exiting at the side. Anyone in the Toronto area can feel free to stop by and here it at any time
