Dealer's reaction to Mods?

Hello everyone, I have a '02 MC I bought used. I need to take it to the dealer because I am having those common overheat issues related to the power steering fan/radiator fan being on the same circuit. I recently put in an AFE cold air intake and was wondering if anyone has experience with taking their Modded Coopers to the dealer and the dealer's reaction to such? I know that the CAI has nothing to do with the problem Iv'e been having, but I'm worried that the dealer will send me and my minorly modded Cooper away without fixing my problem. Thanks! (sorry for the long post)

Depends on the dealer, most will not care that the car is modded.

My dealer has no problem with my mods (actually his Service Dept reviewed the mods I made and OK'ed them to confirm they would not affect the warranty). They said they do lots of warranty fixes on cars with mods.

My dealer didn't have any issue with anything on my car.

mine was the same..no problems. actually when i came back to get it after the oil change there was a small group of workers from the dealer standing around the car talking about some of the mods. (in a good way i think)

I would think that your 02 is pretty much out of warranty or will be soon.

The CAI has nothing to do with the issue.

I had the same issue with the radiator fan/ps fan and had this fixed under Mini USA Extended warrenty plan even with my CAI.

Get yourself a PS fan protector so stuff doesn't jam the fan:thumbsup:

Your Mini being an 02 so most dealers are use to mods now. You should be fine.

When I got mine serviced and went to pick it up the guy at service said "Oh your here for the modded Mini on chromies?"

The guys here love it.
