Chopped and widen Classic

I picked up this Classic Mini with a 3” roof chop. I love this thing, but it needs way more power. Thinking of a B series conversion 200whp.

Great looking modified Mini. Normally not a fan of the flares, but it works with the chopped roof-line.

I think you'll find it very difficult to get that much power to the ground in front drive and a 1300 lb car, a D series with 130hp is really quick and with the right final drive is a comfortable cruiser. It's also pretty easy to get over 100 hp at the wheels with a modified 1275.

If you go with a D series, look for a frame kit from McGee Custom Minis.

Let us know which way you go, we'd love to see pics of the build.

Or he could go this route. I sure it will handle 200+ HP.

Yes, I've watched Binky from the beginning....there is a 4wd kit available from MiniTec too, they had 400hp in that one.
They also offer a rear drive V-6 kit, a local friend has built one and I got to drive it - with "only" 250 hp at the wheels, it was sick how fast it was! He has since added a supercharger!

WHY....the A Series is a great engine and with modern tech you can get 200BHP a good 1380cc or 1460cc with either 7 port or 8 port head conversion with mapped fuel injection steel billet crankshaft, rods ect and it looks better than a honda conversion

You can do a D-series with a 5 speed gearbox for less than half of the cost of doing that to an A series, and it's a modern reliable engine with fuel injection. that's why.
