Classic Mini - VTEC K20C1 Engine Swap Question

Has anyone ever considered swapping a K20C1 VTEC Honda engine into a classic Mini from any year? Does anyone think it is even possible? Would the engine even fit?

not sure what your specific question is ....

people have been putting the VTEC in classic Mini for a LONG time ... you can buy kits which are essentially a new front subframe. You bolt in the VTEC and bolt the assembly to the car. Hook up some wires and DONE. (Obviously there is a bit more BUT ... there ARE kits and the hard fabrication is done already)

if you are asking as to whether this specific VTEC motor fits, I can't answer that.

The K series motors require lengthening the front end, the D and B series will fit without modifying the length. You can buy a kit for all of them from MiniTec…."some assemble required"

You do have to cut the chassis, but as far as engine swaps go, this one still seem relatively straightforward. They offer a longer fiberglass nose to fit the K. Hard to tell the difference.

I'm not sure I'd bother with a K over a B unless I intended to spend another $3-5k to make it AWD. I've ridden in such an example, and it was wicked.

Download their installation manual for the nitty gritty.

Yes, but the Ring Mini is a Clubman, with a factory 4" longer front end.
