1963 Morris Mini Minor 'Penny Car'
Ad seen on US Ebay:-
1963 Morris Mini Minor Penny Car VIN: MA2S4S181287
Penny Car made for The Beatles’ “Penny Lane”
4,000 British pennies grouted to exterior (approximate weight: 200 pounds/91 kg)
Woman in England placed pennies on car from coins her father collected
Pennies range in year from 1860 to 1969
Four-speed manual transmission
Right-hand drive
"The earliest coin we can find on this car is 1860, and the latest is 1969! Uncirculated coins from the 1860s can fetch upward of 6,000 British Pounds. Coins depicting British royalty from George IV to Queen Elizabeth II adorn this English auto, almost like the Royal family is looking out for the driver.
Even with the approximate estimated additional weight of 200 pounds (91 kg), this car still handles well. Though the horn is inoperable and the emergency brake handle does not engage, the original gauges are still functioning on this 40-year-old import. This car has a four-speed manual transmission and is a right-hand drive.
This classic was created many decades ago and looks incredible. It does show some well-earned signs of age and is not perfect. There is a dent in the front headlight and a few of the pennies are missing here and there, but that does not take away from the uniqueness of this find. The car starts with ease and rides and drives nicely."

I took this photo of another 'Penny Mini' in San Francisco about 30 years ago.
A Mk3 this time with Wolfrace slot mag wheels.
Most Unusual Auto
The Famous 'Golden Mini'
is covered with 8500 Gold Plated Pennies
The work took over 1000 hrs to complete
and adds aproximately 160 lbs to
the weight of the car.
