Tire suggestions for 12" wheels

I couldn't find any previous threads addressing the pretty limited options classic Mini owners have for their smaller wheels. I have 12" wheels, and was wondering what's out there, and what people recommend. This car will not be driven in rain or over the winter. Thanks in advance.

I'll try the tire forum.

I have Falkens on mine and am very happy with them. I have over 30,000 miles on them and they are doing well.

My brother has Falkens on his mini and they work great. I have 10 inch wheels on my mini and have Yokohamas, I love them. I think Yokohama makes tires for 12 inch also.

I have Dunlop 145SR 10's on my '59 mini. I've had it so long that way back when I got a new set of Dunlop 10X5 alloy wheels for it also. The tires wear like iron. The wheels are a great retro look that is really retro. I understand they are no longer available except if you can find a used set.

Talk to Don at Mr.mini i know that he has a bunch 12 inch tires in stock

Thanks, everybody. Falkens seem to be the most popular choice.

Still researching tires while the Mini hibernates over the winter. Anybody have any feedback on either the Sumitomo HTR 200's or the Yoko A 539's?

I've used Sumitomos in 13" and thought they were a great tire for the price.

For tires try the good people at:

12" tires are too expensive because they are not common in sizes that'll fit the Mini state side.

My 13" cost 42 a piece.....so if you can fit 10" go that route....if you insist on buying 12s....they'll cost you, but it'd be cheaper than buying new wheels.

Pep Boys is said to be able to get the 12" Falkins for no real mark up over the more common sizes. I have not tried myself but given the cost of the 12"s at some of the specialty shops (no offence Don) it is worth a shot.

The car came with really nice 12" Minilites, so I'd rather not invest in new wheels at this point, plus I like the proportions of the car with the 12's. I'll try to get the Falkins through Pep Boys. Thanks, everybody!
