Not Bi-M!N! anymore!!!

I just sold my MINI or traded it in. I figuired that if I want a fast car and a classic mini, I'd buy a fast car. The MINI was fast, but not fast enough, so I traded it with an '08 VW R32, 250hp, 4wd... etc. etc...

Farewell MINI brethren....

sorry to hear about your loss, but at least you got a bad-ass v-dub

Minimad 09-21-2007 06:12 PM

As you're on the classic thread, we'll just wait here for you to get your classic....so its farewell MINI, but not Mini, right?

minimarks 09-21-2007 06:29 PM

Shoulda got a Z06... Have fun with the Dub and let us see the classic when you get it!

ScottinBend 09-21-2007 06:40 PM

Fast.....................lol

Barely keeps up. 3300lbs 240hp

Have fun........................

Hey ScottinBend,

I was thinking the same thing:lol: . I've never driven an MCSa, maybe it's pretty sluggish. My 2006 MCS JCW, well, it's not a zo6, but certainly no slouch when compared to an R32! BTW, I used to live in Bend. It's waistline has grown, just like BMWs and Audis.

Well, MCSa, I like Vdubs, too... No disrespect regarding your choice. I think an awd hatch would be pretty nice.

ScottinBend 09-22-2007 01:12 PM

dimini, how long ago did you live here? Cause I can guaranty you wouldn't recognize it now.........about 75,000 people now.

Born there in 1960, left for school at MU in 1980. I continue to visit "home" and yes, it has changed dramatically in the past 10 years. One thing remains the same--for a sleeper little town (not quite so little anymore), it has it's share of awesome sports cars and enthusiasts. Living in the Rust Belt, I rarely see the beautiful "vintage" cars that are so common in Bend, such as BMW 2002's, 2800csi's, Datsun 510's, 240-Z's, Porsche 356, 912 and 914's, etc.

Ok, sorry for the threadjack MCSa, do you have a classic mini or are getting one? Let's see it. Owning (and loving) a MINI and perusing NAM is how I got hooked on "classic" minis, which led to my purchasing a mini pickup--nevermind that I don't physically have it yet...

Glad that you still have a classic Mini. Nice new car!

Thanks

Thanks for the comments.

Dont get me wrong, I'm aware of the capabilities of the MINI. I've been on the track several times with my MCSa and My brother's JCW.

The real main reason for the trade is capacity, I now have 3 kids that we bring to school. Me, the wife, and 3 kids... did not fit comfortably in the MINI. One of my kids always complain about sitting in the hump on the backseat.

I wanted another hatch that would be comparable to the MINI. I cant compare the two cars, they are different in every way.

thanks and happy motoring....

Hey 06MCSa,

Good for you that you are hanging in there with FUN and interesting hatches! Most folks I know, once they reach the 3-children threshold, give up all fun and buy the Honda Oddyse (Oddesey?-whatever...)--you know, the big-as$ed Toaster on wheels that works very well for carting around half a soccer team.

not gonna lie guys, the .:R32 is a BLAST to drive. but you are right in saying its a completely different beast. the .:R32 is a torquey highway cruiser and that sound of the 3.2 VR6:eek::eek::eek:. best of luck with the .:R from a fellow dubber.

by the way, VWVortex can be your best friend or worst enemy when it comes to that car:thumbsup::thumbsup:
