Hi All,

I am in the Racine, WI area and I'm ready to do my pulley swap this weekend but the loaner tool from the vendor that I bought my pulley from is still loaned out to someone else. Does anyone in the Milwaukee or Chicago areas have a pulley removal tool and possibly a tensioner tool that they would be willing to rent me for the weekend, or sell outright?

I can pick them up and bring them back and would be willing to pay a generous rental fee or buy them as you prefer. I'd just like to take advantage of some good garage time while my wife is out of town this weekend.

Good luck with this! I waited a bit to get my WMW puller, but when it came in, I waited for the 1st available weekend and did it. If that is who you are waiting on, I sent it out last week to someone in Normal, Illinois. Maybe you are next if he is done...?

Actually, yes, that must be where it's at. I am waiting for the Way tool, and he said that it's in IL somewhere. I just thought I'd see if I could find one locally so that I could work on it this weekend. It's already too late to order one and have it here on time, unfortunately.

 

Dustin and Glenn at AutoX Cooper were most helpful and let me borrow their shop tool and I got everything swapped out last night. Both of them are great guys who are obviously very knowledgeable with these cars - thanks guys!

 

Anyone still have a pulley removal tool available in the next two weeks? I just put in an order for my WMW 16%, but they didnt have a tool available. I'm in the north chicagoland area.

I have the pulley puller and belt tool and can rent it out. PM me for details. I live in the South Loop area.

 

If he can't help you out, I'm on the north side(winnetka) and the west side (carol stream) everyday...I've got the alta puller and the factory belt tool. Give me a shout

 

I got the CravenSpeed puller ... Not much room to get that pulley out. Mine came off pretty easy, though. I've heard others having difficulties with theirs.
