Update:

:smile: Seriously though it was a fun drive with some spectacular scenery and as many twists and turns as you'll find around Chicago.

Perfect Power portion of the day exceeded all expectations. Sol made us feel quite at home and is provided some fascinating insight into the MINI.

Here's are all the details of our upcoming Fall Drive and Pefect Power Tech Session:

When: October 25th at 8:00 am.

Meeting Point: Plaza de Lago in Wilmette just off of Sheridan Rd. You can see a map of the area here (the red star is our meeting point)

The Plan: We'll be taking Sheridan Rd. all the way up past Lake Bluff (with some small interesting detours) and then over to Pefect Power - local shop that specializes in performance modifications to the new MINI. Once at Perfect Power we will have a MINI tech session where we will spend two hours going over everything about the MINI from regular maintenance to professional modifications. [b]We do ask that everyone bring their own chair for the session.[b/] This will be important because if you don't have a chair with you - you'll have to stand :smile:

It's also worth nothing that while this drive is for members only but we're happy to have guests along who are interested in joining the Chicago MINI Motoring Club.

After our tech session those with time are welcome to head over to the Cubby Bear North (on Milwaukee Ave. in Lincolnshire for lunch.

I have a question gabe. Is the drive for members only or just the tech portion of it? I'd gladly be a member. Its not much money

 

Obviously we don't want to exclude MINI owners from coming and checking us out but at the same time we need to make sure that the benefits we provide foremost go to paying members of the club. With that in mind the entire event is meant to be solely for members of the CMMC or or anyone who might be interested in the club. Basically if you want to come check us out and may be interested in joining the club you're more than welcome - no pressure to join on the spot or anything. You can just come, have a good time, and decided later if you want to join if you like.

Like you said it's pretty cheap - $25 to join. That is a bargain when you consider the discount you get at any of the three MINI dealerships in the Chicago area on parts and the discount we receive at the Phil Wicks Driving Academy, and some other future discounts we're working on.

Speaking of the member discount, does that apply to all MINI merchandise, or parts only?
