service before a 2,000 mile road trip?

I have had my R56 MCS since last august and have accumulated close to 5k miles on it now...it's just been an awesome experience

Given that I am planning a 2k mile road trip, should I take my baby to the dealer (bill jacobs) for a "check up" as I feel that the manual shift is a bit stiff...and I have run over some potholes throughout the winter?

What's the reason for the gear shift getting stiff so quickly? How much would it cost (if any) to have the dealer examine over the car? Thanks soooo much!

Take it in and ask the dealer about the shifter.. Most problems (except for abuse) are covered.

Yeah, you may want to ask a dealer to check out the shifter but other than that you should be good to go. It's only 5k miles on the car.
