This came up on Louisville Streets and I wanted to share the info to people on here as well...

I've heard that, and I've also heard non-Swope indications that Louisville is nowhere near getting a MINI dealer.

You got me curious, so I called 866-ASK-MINI and asked them. They said the following:

• They wouldn't know if the planning group was in talks with Swope.
• Unless they were finalizing plans, it's 2-3 years out at the earliest.
• Louisville will eventually get one, we're too big and Lou/Cinci are independently big enough (and far enough) to easily support their own.
• MINI must be in a BMW dealership, but also must be segregated into it's own space...no car mixing (this is since MINI is so different from BMW...culture, demographic, marketing, etc.).

If I get a chance, I may also stop by BMW and ask for the GM or someone more in the know. This impacts existing owners more than potential buyers...buyers go to a dealer 2-3 times, owners 2-3 times/year.*
