I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I picked up a 2006 Mini Cooper S w/the factory installed John Cooper Works package yesterday. Its space blue w/Cordoba beige interior, 18" JCW wheels, carbon fiber door mirrors, hood scoop, and rear hatch spoiler navigation, back-up sensors and a bunch of stuff I've not figured out yet. . If you see me 'motoring' around town, wave, honk or something.
This is was a total impulse purchase: My other car is a red Mercedes C230 Kompressor, but sadly its an autotragic, so the Mini is suppose to keep me 'entertained' while driving.
I wish we had a Mini dealership in town. BMW of BG (or whatever they're calling themselves these days) can't order parts for our cars and from past experiences, I don't care much of BMW of Nashville.

welcome to the addiction
Sometimes Moxi and I show up at the cruise-in at Smokey Bones on Tuesday night, you should come by. Moxi always brings his CR S, but I sometimes show up in my LiB "justacooper" and sometimes in the RX7, you can't miss us.
By the way, there is a dealer in Louisville, just opened I think, definitely better than BMW of BG and not much farther than Nashville.

BMW of BG is hit & miss depending on what you need. I've had 8 BMWs and 6 Mercedes (I have serious car addiction! ) and they treat me well. I get a nice discount on parts and most of the non-sales staff are super friendly.
I would NEVER...EVER buy a car from them. That's a story for another time.
Thanks for the tip on Mini of Louisville.

Actually the Mini of Louisville isn't open yet. They are planning the ground breaking here soon though. The owner has been very involved with the Bluegrass Minis. Car Addict, check us out on www.bgminis.org. I know I don't get on this website much more, but I am on bgminis.org daily.
I am from Bowling Green and I am down there frequently, but I am up in Lexington now. I am glad to see there is another Space Blue mini around. I hope you enjoy it. I love mine.

I'll definitely have to check out the cruise-in sometime.

Their prices are ridiculously more than BMW of BG's (without my discount). BMW of Bowling Green doesn't keep much inventory in stock, so if there's something that I need right away I have to go to BMW of Nashville to get it and their price has literally been double on more than one occasion for the exact same part.

Do you guys know anyone in town that can repair wheels? 3 out my 4 18" JCW rims have light to moderate 'curbage' to the edges. Overall, its minor and I'm probably the only who will ever notice it (without it being pointed out) but its something that I'd like to get fixed.
If it ends up being too costly, I might look into a do-it-myself situation. I have access to bodyshop equipment & supplies, so I know I could paint/clear them myself, but I've not had any experience with repairing the rim itself.
