Coming back to MINI?

What can we say, we just miss you guys so much! Mark and I have decided that one GTI is enough for us and we both miss our MINIs pretty badly, so it's time to return to the brand. We're currently in the process of [hopefully] getting financed for a 2010 Clubman S at Roadshow. I was iffy on the look of the Clubman when it first came out, but I like the idea of the increased utility of the car. The GTIs have been great in that they have a real, usable back seat unlike the MINIs. The Clubman should allow us to get a MINI and still be able to comfortably have more than 2 people in the car. And there aren't many around still. I think the only one I ever see in this area is Fritz's Hot Chocolate.

So right now we're trying to get the 2010 Pure Silver Clubman S at Roadshow. If it works out in time we're really hoping to see you guys in November on Magazine! If not, well we'll probably still see you there and keep trying until we're motoring in a MINI again

Btw, why is the forum so dead of late? Everyone too busy?

Oh and I guess we'll have to change the sig pic!

Change of plans! We were approved to get the Clubman S, and we were in Tunica with some friends this weekend so we stopped by RS to see and test drive it. I have to admit, and I hope I don't step on any toes, but compared to my GTi I was a bit underwhelmed. So we test drove a few other cars and I fell in love with, surprisingly, one of their Horizon Blue Justas. I don't mind saving that $5k anyway! So we're going to pick up Nic next weekend! Can't wait to motor with you guys again!

Hah, well call me Captain Indecision. After talking it out a while, we've decided that waiting the 4-8 weeks for a car tailored to our real specifications will be better than settling for what they happen to have. So tomorrow we're putting in our order for a 2010 PW/PW Cooper, stick, sport and cw packages, and a few other goodies.

Now here's hoping it'll be closer to the 4 week end than the 8 week end...

Even if he's not here, we're still going to see you guys on Magazine!

Delays, delays, delays. Went to RS yesterday to see about going ahead and trading in my GTi. We were expecting low but not *quite* that low. So we're holding off for the time being to catch up on some negative equity and/or find a different method of financing.

Sucks that we won't be making it to MMOTM!!!

Fortunately I didn't give up! The financing we needed came through, so now it's just a waiting game until A. I can find a car that fits my specifications at my price (not likely), or B. the car I ordered at Roadshow comes in here in about 5-6 more weeks (most likely).

I'd still like to stop by and say hi to you all at Magazine! We need an excuse for a beautiful drive anyway, and those GTi's can handle the twisties *almost* as well as the MINIs

Woohoo! Well after all the back and forth we're now officially ordered on a 2010 PW/PW MCSm like the sig line says. I decided it would be better to spec out a car I wanted rather than getting a car someone happened to have. So we have a build date range of 11/15 - 11/24 and hopefully arrival before Dec 31 (for that IRS auto tax credit).

Well, glad you finally got it sorted out!

We've had our Clubby since Feb and really like it! See you all on the mountain this weekend, look for us.......

We'll be there with the two Mini-poopers!

We're going to stop by and say hi but we won't be going on any rides with you guys. Just wanna see some faces as it's been a while. And of course all the MINI-atmosphere and -brother/sisterhood is amazing as well.

I actually would've preferred to go with the Clubman S, but it just wasn't in the financial cards. Such is life!

Exactly. The increased utility is really attractive to me. I didn't use to be a big fan of the look - suggested too much of a "MINI Wagon" - but after looking at a number them, especially in person, the look has really grown on me.
