FS: MCS 05-06 Invidia Catback Exhaust
FS: MCS 05-06 Invidia Catback Exhaust
Mint condition MCS Invidia catback for sale. I bought this during the group buy and it has only 40 miles on it. Installed for 2 days only. Includes all the hardware, plus what Invidia did not include so you have everything needed to bolt this on. You also get all the gaskets and even the Invidia sticker.
As a bonus I have packed the system up in the original Invidia packaging for extra safety. On top of that, I filled the box with packing peanuts to fill the voids. So you get packaging even better than Invidia's to ensure safe travels.
Further advantage is offered in that I suffered thru the break-in process for you already. If you don't know, these things smoke and stink like a steam locomotive when you first fire them up as the manufacturing oils burn off. Great for losing cops but your neighbors won't appreciate it.
Installation is dead easy. I did it by myself in my driveway in about an hour with no special tools. Your purchase includes tech support if you get stuck.
Price is $500 local pickup in Miami, FL. $550 shipped. Checks, money orders and Paypal are all good but you have to cover the 3% Paypal fee which is $16.50 extra. If you have a one-ball or a stock exhaust to trade this will work to your advantage (locals only).
Again this only has 40 miles on it. It's essentially new and in MINT shape. It never touched the floor or driveway. Bottom of pipes and cans are scratch-free and mint.
Your chance for a great deal on a true work of art.

Haha don't get me wrong it's a fantastic exhaust and truly a work of art.
Like any exhaust purchase it's a gamble to see if it fits your personal needs and I knew there was a very good chance it wouldn't suit me.
Part of it is my fault. I'm very used to exhausts on turbo cars that are much quieter by design and I had an unrealistic expectation of the Invidia. I drive very aggressively and this exhaust lets it be known. Here in Miami traffic stealthiness is best and I'd rather not broadcast my intentions over a 5-block radius.
Again I love the sound but I have my turbo Lexus which makes all sorts of sexy noises (and 440hp so it's worth it) so I'll hop in that when I want to be loud.
For the record I have the Alta intake and I quite enjoy that even tho it sounds like I have a shot power steering pump at WOT.

I keep getting PM's asking for sound clips. Here are some from other NAM members, I didn't record these.

And for the archives, YES, the Invidia box can fit inside a MINI. *Very* carefully but it fits and you can even close all the doors.
Driving position not so good, tho.

Ha! I'll let those of you that want to hear it hear but I live in Utah!
...long drive for those of you in Florida
But well worth it I'm sure for the sounds of the Invidia

Here's a FYI for everyone....
The Invidia exhaust does not fit on cabrio's..... I have found this out the hard way.
Cabrio's have some under chasis bracing that was not accounted for in their design. I have sent pictures to Tom at Invidia showing the bracing and the problem. The exhuast sits directly on the bracing, in fact.. without the bracing on it would sit about 2 inches too low. When the bracing is installed it pushes the exhaust up about 2 inches causing it to sit right on the chasis and the bottom of the car causing one hell of vibration.
Right now my cars at a custom exhuast place getting some new bends so it fits correctly.
:impatient
Pretty bummed out about it but I love the way it sounds and looks
....live and learn right?
I called Invidia before I bought this exhaust and was told "Yep! it'll fit both the cabrio and coupe model no problem"
Some glaring oversights indeed
