FS: 05(S) Rearview Mirror modified for Valentine 1 Concealed Display

This is a modified rearview mirror for Valentine 1 Concealed Display, taken out of my 05 MCS. All you need to do is get the concealed display from valentine 1 and install it inside the mirror, i think it's an easy job. I saw how my installer did it(or I can ask him to install for you, but it'll cost you $$$). The mirror has a scratch on the side of lower arrow but otherwise it's in good shape.

Price: $200.00 or best offer + shipping

Note: This does not include valentine concealed display.

Cool idea but...

...maybe it's just me but doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a concealed display in the first place? But if you're not looking for stealth, it's pretty cool.

the installer just removed the display from the case and glued(?) it inside the mirror, simple as that, of course i can't do that. that's why i said "I THINK IT's AN EASY JOB".

The install of the display is easy, the etching of the glass, now thats where the skill comes in to play.

I've made a few of these for various cars, the mirror etching is not easy and is not cheap, it takes time and a bunch of steps that took a lot of work to figure out. I can't share all the details but assuming the glass is accessible they've taken me usually 3-4 weeks and about $300 to complete. The detail is pretty impressive though, here's a picture of my mirror in my Boxster:

Chris,

very cool - could you not simply etch a square = to the size of the V1 remote? It would not be as sexy but a cheaper option?

The process would still be the same, it's the chemicals and other elements involved in trying to remove the paint and silver to leave the glass clear enough that takes the time. I have another design that is intended to make it look more like a compass for a more stealthy appearance too.

Chris.

I can accidentally etch glass at work when the glass is left too long in the acid wash.

I think i might try this out on a scrap piece of mirror to see if its as easy as it looks.
