Has anybody taken them off of thier GP?..... or put CF or a different color on thier Red MINI????? I would sure like to take the red ones that are taking up room in your garage off of your hands!!!!

Also, If anybody knows where I can buy them retail, that would also help too!!!!

I figured I would buy my MINI a treat after being so good through the Incident..... :impatient

Yah.... those are not pre painted though. If I am not mistaken the red ones that come on our cars from the factory are just Red plastic.... I think they are not painted at all. At least the red ones that I have seen were red on the inside as well. I could be wrong.... But I would like to find some that are already red....

Dude, be original... go blue or orange or green or something different! Don't just copy the GP look - you've got a sliver MINI you could put any color on there and it would look hot!

I painted my mirror caps red because they show racing heritige. Plus they look awsome and I was quite tired of the orignal black...

Nikki, While I agree other colors would look sick (actually any other color than yellow )... I did not know there were sooooo many silver MINIs running around out there with red mirrors????

I am trying to upgrade where I will be viewing EVL MINI from the next time I see him. Actually I could look at EVL MINI from the left one and Dylan from the right one. Although with the smaller reflection ratio from side mirrors I might not see much of you guys because you'll be soooo far away.

I really like the DTM look... so I would actually like to do like neon orange or neon yellow or something, but I am sure others probably would not get it and trip out. Not to mention "my Nikki" would kill me.

How did it go, was it a scene at all?

If this whole hunt doesnt get any better soon I might just have to go for it and do it myself.

 

My dad was a Porsche mechanic for 20 years and he painted them the exact color of a 65 Speedster (heh). Il post some pics on friday when the deal falls thru on the Slites.

It came out perfect! One blemish on the right mirror but he buffed it out.

I had the Clear-Bra on the car before, but sigh, had to take it off to paint em'

You can do it yourself if you have the money and the pacience.

 

I found a pair on Ebay a few weeks ago for 50 bucks. Don't give up hope in the quest for the grail !

Just a additional thought ...
I have been playing around with VINYL !
(Headlight rings. door handles etc.)
The mirror cap can be removed and thet compound curve is a bit "interesting" ... but even with my limited time with VINYL and a heat gun ... I coud wrap a mirror cover.

It is NON permanant !

I just may give it a go with RED or something else myself.

That is a damn fine idea! Are you talking about say sign vinyl? Would you suggest I get a sheet bigger than the whole cap and wrap it all in one piece?

If you're going to try doing them in vinyl, the correct color in Avery vinyl is Dark Red (8125, I believe, but I don't have a swatch handy). The OraCal Dark Red is supposed to be a dead-on match for Avery, but I haven't verified it yet. They are sending me a sample that should be here tomorrow, and I'll verify the match.

I was going to try using vinyl to wrap the mirror covers, but I know the difficulty greatly exceeds my limited skills

 

Hmm you might be on to something here... neon orange or neon yellow would look SICK on PS, DS or even black Might have to get an estimate for paint...
