So I could take off my 03' hangers and put it on the 05' exhaust?

Hey Cody,
The tint film is manufactured by Formula One Performance Automotive Film. The offering from them is either 35%, in non-metalized film, or 38% in the metalized film. Metalized film provides less heat transfer into the vehicle, a huge benefit here in Atlanta, while still passing for legal. Side by side to two do not look much different other than the metalized film has a slight mirror look to it from the outside. I have used Formula One film on my last 8 owned vehicles with no problems. Just in case, Formula One backs their film with a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser against fading, cracking, peeling etc...

Hope this answers your question.
Rich B.

I've got two. One's for a cabrio and all the way up in the attic and the other is on my '06, coming off ASAP as the new exhaust is on it's way to me here from NY. I don't care to coax a second one up the attic, as the opening is smaller than the exhaust is wide....you have to thread the needle.

Exactly. All you need is the right hanger.

Oh, and that is IF I can get access to a welding machine. Now, if I can't...how much to you think it would cost to weld the piece together?

Thanks,

I've heard that theres a little bit of sound change. Everyone says its definitly worth it. Search the drive terrain forum for one-ball exhaust. Theres a thread somewhere with a sound clip...

Good luck...polizei...lol

I'll let you know in a couple days how much it cost to have a shop weld the pieces. I cut the stock exhaust with a sawzall. Battery ran out after one full cut, finished off with a hacksaw with a carbid blade to cut the second part, just so i could easier load it back into the car later.

Oh, and It'll be the M7 that I'm removing... sounds awesome WOT, but loud on my ears puttering around town if my ears werent so sensitive I wouldnt want to take it off. My friends tell me it doesn't bother them, oh well.

Ahhhh I want the M7...

Anyway, do you think there's any benefit of removing the surrounding peice of the resenator/muffler? The big silver boxes that cover them up. I've seen some people take a saw and cut them off, exposing just the resonator or muffler (can't remember which) part.

Thanks,
-Cody

Well, I believe thats the heat shield. I suppose you could remove it, if you want. It would get really hot in the boot though. Not to mention the fuel tank it right next to it!

I dont think you would get much of a sound difference. Just the weight loss. If you were to only remove half of it, I would think it would be whatever is second in the exhaust flow. I dont know if it goes through the muffler or resonator first, but the exhaust temps are probably lower for what ever is second.

I hope you understand what I'm saying!
