WTB engine damper
just wait. that many peeps got one all at once, you can pretty much count on a few trying it (or not) and deciding for whatever reason it doesn't float their boat.
i bet somebody pm's you or offers you one here w/in 10 days.

There are some guys in TX working on a better design that connects to stronger elemetnts in the engine bay. I am Picking up one of the first run production this weekend. I have seen both designs and the newer one is in line with engine movenment as opposed to slightly offset. plus the brackes used are very strong and connect to befier parts of the engine bay. PM "scobib"
When you pick it up, post some pics!

I have a 2005 MCS auto and had the damper put on today at their local "coming out" party. It fits great and there's a clear improvement in the firmness of the engine off the line. The mounting brackets are extremely well engineered and, as mentioned earlier, mount at structural locations that are far better than any other damper I've seen.
In my mind this is how the MINI should have been engineered to begin with.
I'll post a photo or two when I find my camera. Here in Dallas it's like Christmas in July!
Daboy....can u put that link up for the thread on the other site....i think i wanna go with theres.....actually....can someone give his number so i can call before they run out since im not a member of that site.....thanx guys

I also had one installed yesterday, and the difference in the car is just amazing. These guys did their homework.
I got the Texas Speedwerks Damper put on yesterday as well. It's amazing how different the ride feels.
The main difference between the TSW Damper and others is the carefully designed and tested bracket system, custom built for the different model years.

Normal prices:
02- early 04 Damper Kit - $110 + tax (if in TX) + S&H ($8)
late 04-06 Damper Kit - $116 (bigger brackets, more hardware!) + same as above
Here's a pic of the brackets (not all parts completely bolted down, but you get the idea of placement) and damper.

I didn't do my install, but it looked rather simple and was done in less than 30 minutes. I'll let one of them explain the process.
I have heard that do to some variances in the MINI build that there was a need to 'tweak' a few brackets slightly for a better fit.

I think my install took about 15 minutes. everything just bolts on... Scott will be preparing the how to instructions sometime to send out with the kits. I think that some of the later model cars will end up waiting until the second production run of the brackets. they are about out of them but let me tell you these are very nice and solid brackets!
Looks: Bueno! I love engine eye candy
Performance: great throttel response, reduces lag when you punch the loud pedal. coming on and off the gas is so much smooter, breaking to gas is so solid... there are alot of happy consumers this weekend. Vadar took his to the track all weekend and the diference there was great from reading is posts on Metroplex Mini.
Engine movement is so much less... down to mere vibrations when revving freely... the preload on the shock can be adjusted as well for the preferred feel. These guys are very meticulous in testing and design...
I think that there will be a few very minor changes in the second production run, to the brackes to compensate for slight diferences noted on cars during install parties this weekend.
Dickdavids pics show whats going on... if i get around to it I plan on getting some up as well.
I have already gone thru one engine mount and this product should prevent any further need for that.

and here's the tread about the development of the damper brackets (the concept it revealed throughout the thread):
