SOLD: Wilwood 11.75" BBK (fits many 15" wheels)

SOLD!

6-month old Wilwood kit (#140-8740) purchased from TCE includes all hardware from the kit such as:

Original parts
  • Directional vane, slotted rotors mounted on hats
  • Race calipers without the rubber boots
  • Mounting hardware
  • Braided steel brake lines
  • BP-10 street brake pads (little wear)
Additional items included in this sale
  • H+R 5mm spacers ($50 new)
  • NIB plain, straight vane rotors ($80 new)
  • NIB steel braided rear brake hoses
Price: $750 plus shipping from zip code 35014 - or best offer.

Here's the story. My dad is selling his '06 MCS. I am helping him sell his aftermarket parts. I also own on '06 MCS and have this very same kit installed on my car, so I know it quite well. In fact, I have written a few posts about it in the following thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...=wilwood+11.75

I ordered this kit for him in January from Todd at TCE. It's an amazing kit. My dad has put ~ 4 track days on the kit using the Poly B race pads, so the street pads are like new. The rotor hats and calipers discolor very quickly when you heat them up. These are fairly purple now, but that is normal. The ones on my car look just the same.

I have used 3 different wheels with the kit. I use the H+R 5mm spacers with all of them. The stock 16" wheels will barely clear the calipers without the 5mm spacers. 15" Kosei K1s will barely clear without the spacers. Konig Rewinds must have the 5mm spacers. All have plenty of clearance with the 5mm spacers, and 5mm is a very small offset.

I cannot attest to any other wheel fitment.

Here's a link to the instructions on Wilwoods website. It includes a detailed fitment guide: http://www.wilwood.com/PDF/ds492.pdf

I'll attach photos too.

Couple of Questions...Is everything I need to swap out my OEM for those?
Am ok with fit, 18" wheels.

What color are those things?. It look like that House of Kolor paint that changes.

Are the rotors straight? Heat warping?

Let me know, thanks

I would guess they were originally black. They discolor by the heat as he posted. I had a Tial wastegate that did the same black to that purpleish color...

Yes, they start life as black and quickly turn purple-ish if you use them on the track (which is what they are made for). This is the stock finish.

This is everything you need. It is a very easy bolt-on project.
  1. Pull off the caliper carrier with caliper in-tact.
  2. Pull off the rotor
  3. Bolt on the new rotor
  4. Bolt on the new caliper bracket
  5. Bolt on the caliper
  6. Unscrew the old brake line
  7. Screw on the new brake line
  8. Bleed the brakes
  9. Done
It is really a fabulous kit - especially if you track your car or do auto-cross. Wilwood and Hawk both make a wide variety of pads for the caliper - and they are much cheaper than race pads for the stock caliper.

I don't know about fitment with your particular wheels. In my case, all of my wheels fit when using the 5mm spacers which are included. The closest tolerance I saw was between the inside of the spokes and the side of the caliper - and I run 15" wheels at the track.

VHT Caliper paint will work well for both rotor & caliper.
Comes in satin black and bright red (among others).
