I know this isn't legal, but could the discs be copied? Where do these come from? How have I not heard about it?
I might want one... $50 you say? Is this a one time load for firmware? Do you discard the disc when done? If so, maybe we can all use the same disc. |

It says MK4 on the DVD disc, not CD on the link. Has this actually worked on someone's 2003? Is there a link to the CD?

OK I'm confused (again!) I use ,I think 7 different CD's for maps of the country. Does this one disc replace all those? If so how does that work?
|
I think its just a firmware update, and once you load the new firmware, you put the map CDs back in.
I dont mean to doubt that this works, I've just been told by MINI, and many many others that you cant update the CD based nav. Thanks for the new info! |
This is off that link:
"NOTE: CD based systems will not support some functions. Such as the 3D mode. Some software changes are car specific… some of those are not on the list below. The loading is automatic. If your system has the ability to support the new functions, it will assimilate. Changes to your existing functions however, will not be made (what you have, you will still have after). Future hardware upgrades will automatically enable the applicable software functions within your system (such as adding a TV or phone modules will automatically add TV and PHONE to the main menu screen)." |
