Misc R50 new parts for sale

Hey all,

I know this being my first post and selling parts may seem rather unusual. Fact is I have been a long time BMW enthusiast. And over the years, I bought a bunch of MINI parts for a project that never went anywhere. These parts are so specific to this market and I can't think of a better place to sell them. These parts are brand new and never installed.

All prices including shipping the US. If you doubt my credibility, please visit my track blog. I am also a regular member on bimmerforums.com, e46fanatics.com and a competing NASA TT So Cal division member. PM or post for more information. Thank you for reading.

If I were to purchase these, could I hook them up then have the dealer enable cruise?
I have an 03 2 spoke wheel with just the horns.

Hi there,

If your car is pre-wired, then the retrofit should be very straight forward.

Let me know.

If your question is "If I were to purchase JUST these, could I hook them up then have the dealer enable cruise", then the answer is no. You need the MFSW slip ring, which is the first item posted for sale. The MFSW slip ring has the additional connections needed to connect the cruise buttons to the car's wiring. If your question is "If I were to purchase JUST these AND the slip ring, could I hook them up then have the dealer enable cruise", then the answer is maybe. I'd check with the dealer about enabling JUST cruise - the enablement may assume all of the buttons are in place on the wheel, but it may not be a problem just having some of the MFSW buttons installed.

These are good prices for these parts, if you're looking to add cruise to a non-MSFW car I'd certainly check with the dealer and go for it if you feel comfortable going for it.

I've been searching more today and it looks like there is a "kit" that you can add to get cruise, it includes a whole new wiring harness, so unless mine already has this harness getting just the buttons and slip ring won't do me much good.
Even if it does these is still a clutch sensor and a couple other things that I would still need to purchase.

I may have the EBA for that kit in PDF. Will have to wait til this evening.

The EBA will include all the PNs you need.

I have in the past retrofitted CC in a BMW E46. For those not pre-wired, you can actually order just the CC harness. EBA should show the PN.

Btw Larry, thanks for your insight. I forgot you have to upgrade the slipring as well.

FuLcRuM: can you PM me your email? I have the EBA PDF instructions.

Fulcrum, here's the service guide to do the conversion:

http://www.outmotoring.com/images/ho..._MFSW_gen1.PDF

That might give you a better idea to everything needed for the cruise.
