FS Feeler: MINI FINI Bike Rack
FS Feeler: MINI FINI Bike Rack
I have a used MINI FINI Bike Rack with a broken (but repairable) lock cylinder taking up space in my garage. I no longer need it and would be happy to get $150 out of it. It is used and shows a little weathering. Regarding the lock, Russ (owner of MINI FINI) assures me is a simple DIY replacement.
I will post photos if there is serious interest. Also, I don't know if I can find a box (or other safe way) to ship something this big. However, without making any guarantees, I would be willing to try. (Of course, then you would have to add the shipping cost.) Item location: 16063 (Western PA).

The one on back as shown in the middle row of the combo-photo below:

This attachment requires the Sport-Link.

I just cleaned out the garage again and guess what? It's still here! $150 OBO!

There isn't anything visibly broken - it is something inside the tumbler. Nonetheless, here are more pics and a better explanation. First, even with the non-functional lock cylinder, the rack is fully usable.
This lock for the tilt function is the one that doesn't work. The key inserts and will turn, but it never locks. The pin (with the plastic "T" handle) holds it securely upright and it will tilt when removed - it just currently doesn't lock in the upright position.

You can see the lock cylinder that secures the bike rack to the hitch works (it is locked in this photo, but it is unlocked in the top photo - in = locked, out = unlocked):

And in the interest of full disclosure, here is a better shot of the weathering that I mentioned:

It is fully usable as is. The tilt lock really isn't as important as the one that secures the rack to the hitch. But Russ told me that the lock cylinders could be easily replaced. (You would want to replace both because of the matched keying.)

Well, this accessory fits any sport link. The sport link itself is installable on either MC or MCS.
BTW, for anyone put off by the look of the weathered clamps, Mini Fini sells replacements.
I've posted an asking price, but feel free to make me a reasonable offer. Keep in mind that it sells for around $375 new.
