JCW Cooper S Sport Exhaust - 2006
JCW Cooper S Sport Exhaust - 2006
I have for sale a JCW exhaust system. It was factory installed on my 2006 Cooper S and has been driven for 11,500 miles. I had the resonator removed to improve the sound of the exhaust, but it is included in the price and can be re-installed if necessary. I also had the 'pinch' (just before the 'Y') removed to improve the flow. I'll be honest and say that the exhaust shop who performed the modifications did a lousy job because the new pipe sections are larger in diameter than the original (see photos). I therefore think it would be sensible for whoever buys the exhaust to have the large center pipe cut out and replaced with one clean section of pipe. At that time the decision can also be made on whether to re-install the resonator. Finally, the JCW tips are not included in with the exhaust but can easily be purchased from a MINI dealer (they just slide onto the end pipes and are held in place with a set screw).
Now for the price. A new JCW exhaust can be purchased for around $775. The buyer will have to purchase new tips ($120 pair). The center section of the exhaust doesn't have to be replaced, but I think the buyer will probably want to have that done ($150). 11,500 mile wear and tear ($210).
I therefore think a fair price for the exhaust is $295 + shipping. I live in Massachusetts and so for a local buyer shipping won't be an issue. For interested purchasers who live further away then all I can do is get a shipping quote. I think it will be much easier to ship if the exhaust is cut into 2 parts, which won't be a problem if the buyer intends to have the center section replaced.
