!PLEASE HELP ME!

About 3 and a half months ago, I purchased an iPod adapter from MarioKart.

Here is the original post:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=98541

When I received the item in the mail, it did not come with the black harness pictured here:

As a result, I thought the adapter did not come with it because in the pictures MarioKart provided, the black harness was not included. Yet, he claimed that the adapter was "plug and play".

"I'm selling an OEM Ipod interface, this will allow you to control and recharge your Ipod from the deck and/or steering controls. This is all plug and play no wire cutting."

I've tried contacting him, but to no avail, which is strange because he has been active in the forum since my last PM.

I know that a substantial amount of time has passed since the transaction, but I think I'm entitled to a refund for false advertising.

I've also run into trouble because after finding out the adapter (that should come with the black harness) didn't work for '02 models, I tried selling it to a fellow NAMer, only to have it returned.

What to do? If for some reason you haven't received my PMs, I apologize in advanced for having to make a post of this, MarioKart.

All your help is greatly appreciated.

I agree, most MINI owners are real stand up honest people. MarioKart, if you're reading this, do the right thing amd don't make it worse for others selling or buying on NAM.

I was the one who bought the adapter from him, but when it arrived the harness was missing. I contacted ellis, we tried to locate a harness, but to no avail. So without hesitation, he agreed to return my money and I sent him the adapter back. He was very stand up about the who situation, +1 for let's get this thing solved for him!

So he sold more than one w/o the harness? Knowing it wouldn't work?

Hope this isn't the case...............!

no no, ellis tried to sell me the one without the harness not knowing that it was incomplete. Then when he found out, he gave the money back and made it right between him and I. I believe he is trying to contact mariokart to rectify the situation between the two of them.

I buy and sell things all the time on this board. I bought the IPOD kit from another member but never used it because I went an Alpine deck. When I sold it 4 months a go, I sold it with everything that is came with. I remember the kit having both a white wire and a black cable. I have no problem fixing this problem but, this guy contact me over 4 MONTHS later after he sold it to someone else. Why would he sell a kit that he thinks is bad or that he couldn't make work himself.
I don't need the money but I'm very bothered that Ellistotle has waited 4 months to contact me, plus he doesn't even give me a chance to respond to his private message. If there was a problem he should of contacted me ASAP 4months ago and we could have fixed the whole thing.

I wasn't party to mario's and ellis's dealings, but I do notice that in the thread mario started, even the pics he posted do not show the black radio cable. But it does show the white one, which was what I recieved from ellis. Hopefully this thing gets worked out to everyone's satisfaction.

Good, mariokart is here. I made this post because since my last PMs, you were active on this thread (thanks to the search for posts by user tool). I didn't contact you 4 months ago when I got it because I thought that was all it came with. I learned different when I sold it to Sushkin about a week ago.

If you for some reason forgot to include the black harness, no hard feelings--just send it to me. I know it was a long time ago, but I just didn't have the time to deal with hooking up the adapter to my car. Regardless, there is still no black cable in any of the pictures in your original post to sell the adapter.

Since you say you have no problem fixing the problem, let's fix it!

EDIT: I sold the adapter because I found out it wasn't compatible with my '02, NOT because I knew there was a missing black cable.

The forum is an excellent way to resolve this. Keeps everything out in the open. By going to PM's you give the impression you are trying to hide something.

By going to PM's it goes private. that's it, said and done. no need to insinuate that mario is trying to hide something.

But by having it out in the open all interested parties are informed. Not saying anything will be hidden, just that it will stop any assumptions about the outcome.

I'd have to side with MarioKart on this one after reading his original post...I don't think he was dishonest at all...nor do I think he owes anyone anything. This should have been resolved much sooner than 4 months later. No disrespect to ellistotle...I just don't think MarioKart did anything wrong.

Also, thanks for taking care of this via PM...no need to have it out for everyone to read.

Honestly, I don't think Mariokart owes you anything. It's your responsibility to check out the product when you receive it. I don't think its good to come back after 4 months and come after him. Especially after you sold it! I feel that you sold it and now the person you sold it to isn't satisfied so you turn around and blame MArioKart. Sometimes you just gotta let a bad purchase go. I also think that it was horrible to post this our for the public to see. Its not only embarrassing to MAriokart, but also shows lack of character on your part. Honestly I don't mean to offend anyone. Im just stating my opinion. Good Luck to all parties involved hopefully everything turns out and everyone is happy.

The OP did state that he gave mario some time to respond after seeing he had been online before posting here.

I want to clarify my post about taking it private........the specifics about what happens should indeed be private, that is between the OP and mario. But the outcome should be posted here.

IMHO... I think that someone is hiding WMD's or is secretly smuggling high grade Nigerian plutonium that in the right hands can be converted into an Ipod adapter.

I just don't know whether it's Mariokart or ellistotle??
