I believe all JCW supercharges came coated even back in 03 kits. The coating became standard on all 05 and above blowers on S cars if I remember ridgt.

Okay, first question, are these JCW superchargers or stock that were taken off to put a JCW supercharger on?

Second question, what is the difference if any, between the stock supercharger and the JCW supercharger?

Third, if there is a difference between superchargers, is it a $600 difference?

Thanks for all the input so far.

IN 03 the SC for the JCW came with the coating and a 14.7% smaller pulley. Starting in the 05 model year all SC's came with the coating and only the JCW had the smaller pulley, all else being the same.

One of the ones I have for sale is from an 04 and has no coating with the standard pulley. That one is $600

The other is from an 05 and is coated with the pulley size being standard. Thats the one for $650.

Neither of these are JCW SC's, they are both takeoffs from Mini's that had the JCW kit installed.

I was under the impression that the JCW pulley is a 13.8% reduction. Am I wrong?

There has been debate on this matter and I don't think a difinitive answer was found. I could be wrong too, it's happened before and will happen again.

These SC's have the OEM sized non-JCW sized standard pulley. I can have the pulley replaced with whatever you want before shipping. That will cost whatever the pulley costs + the labor the shop charges me.

I was just wondering, since I am thinking of having LuckyDog replace the JCW with a 15% pulley when they do a tune for me tomorrow. They believe that the 15% can offer another 5+ horses. Not too likely if I already have a 14.7%, but very probable if I currently have a 13.8%. I've seen both numbers as well, so I'm not certain either.

Save your money. It's not worth changing the JCW pulley for a 15%.
