Talkeetna Road Rally and Seward's Folly... This Saturday 8/13!
 

Attention MINI Owners:

Hey everyone! Our next MMCA Road Rally is scheduled for this coming Saturday, 8/13, to Talkeetna. For those of you that don’t know where Talkeetna is (and if you’ve lived in Alaska for more than a year and still don’t know, shame on you), it’s 70 miles past Wasilla on the Parks Hwy. This one’s a little farther than I thought it’d be, being just over 100 miles. There’s lots of fantastic scenery along the way, so bring your camera! Hopefully this time we can get some better pics by actually parking in a straight line! I don’t know how, but we always manage to screw it up.

We are planning on lunch at the West Rib Café & Pub (or is it the Talkeetna Roadhouse?). They were featured on Man Vs Food for “Seward’s Folly,” which to me looks big enough to feed all of us! Here’s the clip on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWzZ8eEGB7A

Since we are headed north, the meet-up location will be Carr’s in Eagle River at 10:00 am. I’d make the meeting location at Jitters (hands down the best coffee shop), but their parking lot is always packed on Saturdays… As usual, please RSVP to the rally so that no MINI (or Mini) is left behind.
