Any Recommendations for Car Audio Installers in Birmingham

Thinking about changing out my HK head unit for a third party car audio unit (with satellite radio and iPod capabilitiy). Not crazy about the sound that comes out of the HK unit. Any suggestions?? Went to Rickwood Radio and they have zero experience with MINIs..

Used to be that Circuit City did pretty good installs. But that's been awhile. RadioActive in Pelham has done work for my son, with no complaints.

I know you said you are not crazy about the HK (sure wish it was easy to switch into a non-HK car like mine), but have you considered using either the aux. input or ipod adapter to add an aftermarket satellite system to your current HK?

Here is a photo of the kit I installed myself using the aux input.

If you have the H/K be very careful about any upgrades.
The installer must understand what they're doing - and unless you rip out the H/K amp and replace all the speakers, you'll get nowhere without an HKenabler!

Sounds great in Hoover installed XM for us, and I know they have done work for at least 1 other mini, you might want to check with them.

Suggestion, if your not happy with your H/K unit, you probably will just want to go with a whole new unit, Head unit, amp, speakers etc. just like gbmini said it ant that simple with just adding and subtracting accessories to the H/K unit. Sounds Great in Hoover does have a good deal of experiance with MINI tho. Good Luck
