Ten dollars a carload, I went last week (Argo). There's a gas station nearby for a last minute windsheild cleaning.

I enjoyed the drive and fellowship with everyone today. Motoring towards the front was a "happy accident".

A drive in would be great , we should try to plan one sometime in September, when the nights will be cooler, and we could all bring different snacks and make a evening of it .

Since some cars may have a single occupant, maybe they could cut us a club break on price? In Aug the sunset was behind the screen, so that might be a nice backdrop for a potluck.

They do have some orange cones you can slalom on the way out (I did).

I'm in for going to the Drive In. Lets just don't go while that awful movie Snakes on a Plane is still playing there.

We definetly can wait until "snakes on a plane" is gone, I care nothing about seeing that film.

Allthough the tossing of a rubber snake into someones Mini at precisely the right moment during that movie could have been quite amusing I still say we should wait.

It was big fun guys. The pictures looks great. That was a wonderful drive. We're looking forward to the next one. A drive-in sounds good. Isn't there another drive-in other than to Argo? I thought I read that a new one was coming. Did I make that up???

I know there is a new Drive In being built on Hwy 280/231. It is acutally not too far from the winery. I saw a sign when I was going the back way to Altanta & for the life of me I can't remember exactly where it was. Oh well I am going to Altanta for some work soon so I will keep an eye out this time & write it down

4 miles south of where hwy. 25 and 280 intersect. Just south of Harpersville. They have 2 screens.

Take a pic! Then there'll be some reference on the net (or show me up and post one already).

Didn't mean to get snappy. (sigh) I wasn't finding anything on the net myself and got frustrated. Yesterday I wasted 20 minutes searching, trying to find the toll-free number for Global (and next time I'll remember it's an 877).

Thanks for your efforts and the info, just4fn.

What's weird about the Harpersville Drive In is that even though we now know the name of it...I have searched extensively for it on the web & it still shows up nowhere except in a few old newspaper articles written when they were building it. I mean how do they get people out there if they don't advertise what movies they show . I also did a Yahoo Yellow page search for it & got no phone number. Maybe it's a super secret drive in & they really don't want us to go there I found one article in the Shelby Co. Reporter saying the Harpersville Drive In is owned by the same guy that owns the Argo one but no phone #'s listed http://www.shelbycountyreporter.com/...ews/news02.txt

For the Argo Drive In (205-467-3434), I called & got a recorded message. Snakes on a Plane is playing there & I don't know how often they change their movies.

OMG I finally found the Harpersville Drive In phone # on an anywho.com search 205-672-8484. Guess what??...they are showing the same movies as Argo . The only difference is that both locations show Talladega Nights but since Harperville has 2 screens both movies go off there at 8PM. To be honest though I haven't heard great things about Talladega Nights either. Oh well at least now we have both phone #'s & can check back
