Does anyone have a time and place where we can meet about this club. I think we can meet at the park where we ate at for the Cover Bridge run or there is a park just a little bit off I-65 in cullman that would work too. [font=Arial]Heritage Park is a great park to get groups together so maybe that would be a good place too. There is places to eat near the park so we could get food and then meet at the park.

http://www.cullmanrecreation.org/heritage.htm

This is just a idea I had today about a place to meet. But don't have any idea on dates.

i hope to see this route on my way back from the Dragon to Florida

I like the park in Cullman idea, magic. Somewhere we can stay as long as we can. Once ideas get put up for discussion, they usually get on a roll with other ideas.

The park sounds like a good idea to me also. Do you want to do it before the ride on April 23, or would you like to do it sooner. Pick a Saturday, any Saturday except 4/2 and 4/16 as those have already been spoken for. It is getting warmer and good days are ahead for picnics. Can't wait too long or we will have another year behind us and still nothing accomplished.

I guess you are asking everyone else to let us know what day is best right? If the park idea is good I can send out a map to get to the park.

That leaves us the 9th or early on the 23rd of April. I'm good with either.

How about a Sunday Afternoon?

TV and College sports hates Saturdays, but I am free on the 10th, 17th, and late afternoon on the 24th.

OK here's the deal. We have got to get this thing moving and talking is all that been done for the last year. We'll meet at the park at 12 Noon on April 23rd for a working lunch to bring together an organization, yet to be named, of cooperating MINI owners in Alabama. Everyone coming should notify me about what they will bring to the picnic to share with everyone else, i.e. potato salad, cold cuts, bread, cold beverages, etc. I will also print and copy Constitution and bylaws, from other clubs, amended for use by this MINI organization in Alabama. If you have suggestions for logos or anything you feel will be useful for the organizing effort (such as your ideas and thoughts), bring those as well. I feel everyone attending this meeting should be named lifetime, founding members with no special priviledges, other than being recognized for starting an organization of MINI Cooper owners.

As has been announced earlier, there will be an exciting ride following the meeting, which will be followed by a very good meal at a local resturant. Spread the word. The British cars are coming!

To get to the park you will take exit 304 (cullman/Good Hope exit). From bham you will go right off the exit. From hville you will have to turn left. Go three red light and turn left. (This is right passed Woodland Medical center.) The parking for the park is on the right.

I realize it's not a perfect day for everyone, but hopefully enough owners will take an interest and we'll have a large representative group to attend. Everyone I have email addresses for have also been reminded to check here and the BAMAMINI website. This should be not only a hsitorical day for Alabama MINI Coopers, but also a fun day with the ride and meal afterwards. Try to contact everyone you can to make sure we have good attendance for the meeting even if they cannot stay for the ride. Thanks

you know seems like everything in this state is "BAMA", from jam to someones favorite team, but not the next guy's. Seems to me something a bit differnt than bama would be more enticing, but whatever the majority thinks. what about Dixie Area MINI (DAM) or Short Car Club of Alabama (SCCA)

Change of Plans for the Run!!

Change of Plans. I think it would be better if you are not coming to the meeting but are going on the run please just meet us at the park at 2:00pm. That way we can start the run there. And if the meeting runs long we are all there once we are done.

To get to the park you will take exit 304 (cullman/Good Hope exit). From bham you will go right off the exit. From hville you will have to turn left. Go three red lights and turn left. (This is right passed Woodland Medical center.) The parking for the park is on the right.

I'm glad to see everyone trying to come together! Sounds like this will be a good chance to get things started on the right foot. I hope the wife and I can drive both Mini's up to the meeting, but with four kids it's sometimes difficult.

Hope to meet everyone soon!
D

I may not be able to make it.

The MINI needs tires and I haven't gotten the new ones yet. I could bring another car, but although it would do fine in the twisties, it wouldn't be the same!

Would a Miata be welcome?
