Does anyone know how we get in to watch The North American MINI Cooper Championship?

By the way I have been talking about this since the Dragon over on the Alabama Mini's Online Forum. We talk about events and stuff over there too. check it out sometime.

OOO the reason I haven't done any track days is because I have been to busy. Plus the price of one track day is the same as a full year of auto cross.

But I may do this event but I think I will just have to take time off from work so I can have time to get ready for the track day.

Here is the word on cost to watch at the event.

The fee for non-participants of the academy to view the race is $10 per person. However, if you want to do lunch time touring laps, the fee is $25 which includes admission to view the race.

The races are scheduled throughout the day depending on the condition of the track and number of racers. They cannot give a specific time frame for the races at this time.

Mrs. Scurvy... I gotta reiterate my invitation to show you what a real & good hamburger is supposed to taste like & tell you to come to bama & let me carry you to Milo's hamburgers. Every Alabamian knows that Whataburger doesn't even hold a candle to a Milo's
plus if you get off at the I-20 Oxford exit I can meet you there & carry you on a nice twisty ride to Milo's on Hwy 280

I'm sure that Milo's are great and I'm willing to try them, but you have to keep in mind I'm a Texas girl, so I grew up on Whataburger and it's a little something that reminds me of home. I'm sure that both burgers have their own redeeming qualities.

MIlo's is like a drug. Once you get it in your stream, you need to keep going back. That or scrub under your fingernails soon as you're done.

"No pickle, grilled onions" is the way I order (unexpected, crunchy chopped onions to this newbie were a little disconcerting, some 20 years ago). Where can you find the best burgers in town?

Hamburger Heaven is WAY overrated IMHO.

Looks like the count for this event is Atlanta MINI's 21 people
Alabama MINI's 1 person
We'll slay that Dragon but when it come to finding out what the MINI will really do on a closed safe course not interested.

Not this time. Price not bad, but got way to many things planned on this weekend. Phil needs to ask before he plans a day in bama.
Ya'll have fun now.

Slaying the dragon involves a Motoring vacation in the mountains, that's why it's appealing to me. Nevertheless, I can see where these events build on each other (along with the enthusiasm). Have a great time.

Even on short notice I gave serious thought about attending from TX, but then I saw the cost of track time. $500 for the weekend!! Road Atlanta was only $375 and local events here in the TXC run about $375 for a weekend. I know the Phil Wicks stuff is for profit, but thats to much profit for me.

I have done track days and I auto cross my Mini every month sometime twice a month. If that is't enough than I don't know what is. By the way I have won two times this year in SM class and won the over all points from last years SM class. (TVR and TAC). I can drive the you know what out of my MINI.

I just got to much going on to have my car teched for this type of event. Plus for some people $300 or more is alot of money. I paid $250 or somewhere around that amount for a full day at Barbers last year. Plus right now all my money is going into new mods.

But anyway I will be there Saturday and Sunday taking pictures from Track side. So anyone doing a track day there will be able to get pictures of this event over on my website. I may break away and got to Barbers for the race on Saturday too but who knows.

I've been to one Phil Wicks event in Nashville and enjoyed it greatly. I thought about this event but have looked at videos of the course and decided against it. $300 for one day is more than what I would be willing to spend for that track as I'm sure it is to others as well. Kershaw on the other hand would be nice if it were closer or even Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Tulsa. If I'm going to run a flat course I'll pay the $25 for autocross.

We've had a few last minute peeps join the AtlantaMINIs crew for Phil Wicks this weekend, so our new total of drivers for Atl is 26.
We'll have nametags for everyone to get to know each other better.
Ya'll feel free to introduce yourselves and grab a nametag so we can get to know our fellow 'bama folks better too.
Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is gonna be fun!
