First let me say, I felt your pain, having banged mine up pretty good in the past and it's hard to believe that's a total. I hope when this is all way behind you, the outcome is good.

I wasn't going to say anything about the bar, but since this IS being discussed.....That bar is pretty stiff - a friend just replaced his 22mm with the 19mm. I wonder if with a less stiff bar, the other rear wheel might have held on a bit more, and things would have been different. I'm not saying the 22mm is just too much, but wondering if maybe this was an instance (rare though they may be) when it was.
OK, I'm ready, start throwing.

I'm so sorry...about the accident, and the total.

RIP MINI You served your owner well.

I'm already searching for another MINI. Having a dedicated track car or having it sit in my driveway to part out aren't really viable options and, quite frankly, I feel it's time to move on and start another MINI project. RIP Mo' MINI. Thanks to everyone for your support. I will update this thread when I have picked up my "new" MINI.

BD, I am SO glad I got to meet Mo! What a great car. I can't wait to see what you get next. (Remember if you travel down this way again to see Behe for the tune, you have a place to stay!)

Well, I got some good news yesterday. The insurance company will let me take any aftermarket parts off the car as long as I replace the stock pieces. Fortunately Chad has all of the old suspension parts (shocks, springs, control arms and sway bar) and I have the rest. I will be able to salvage.....

- ALTA CAI, IC Diverter and Boots
- M7 Strut brace, OCC and Ultimate Grills
- MINI Gauge pod and gauges
- Whalen Shift ****
- H-Sport Springs and Sway Bar, Koni Adjustables, and Alta Rear Control Arms
- PIAA fogs

I guess this means one of three things.
  1. Your buying a 08 Cabrio
  2. Your buying a previously owned R53
  3. Your selling your old parts and buying an R56
So what's it gonna be?...

Are you saying that because the third picture from the bottom shows someone cleaning up with shop towels?

we wanted to check the oil before I drove Mo back... :D

other than the alignment being a little off the drive was smooth and at speed...

When I arrived @ MOTD, I was told that someone had flipped their car, and my heart sank 'till I heard, "they just flipped it back and drove it here!". You have a story to tell. Your car will become a decorated veteran of the MOTD. LOL

All will be well before you know it. See you on the boards with pics of your repairs (and mods) soon.

EDIT: Duh!!! I finally got to the top of the list of incoming messages. TOTALED!
Bummer!
Well, Anyway, the adventure continues

The members of PittStop MINI, woke up from our slumber at the motel in Erwin, TN Wed morning, checked NAM, and said "Damn! Already!"

That's precious....CRASH, BANG, ROLL IT OVER!

NOPE, I didn't do anything wrong, no mistakes here, glad everybody's OK, no airbags deployed or nuthin!

This NAM site really has got so many perfect MINI owner/drivers, I don't know how you can stand all that perfection in one place.

Too funny, really!
