Anybody know anything about Nantahala Village or Mountain Resort?

Hey everyone,

This is my first dragon and I was wondering if any of you veterans out there have stayed at a Nantahala Village cabin or lodge. I maybe booking a room/cabin there and wanted to know if they are decent b/c ive heard alot of horror stories about ppl walking into very rundown cabins. The one i have my eye on is the Trail's End Cabin so if anybody knows anything about that specific one it would help out!

Thanks!

We've eaten there and the food was very good. They also just changed ownership.

I stayed in 86 last year and had some friends in 90. There were several other cabins with MINIs also. I know there will be a several MINIs in the area of the Historic Cottages and the Tree House Cottages this year. Don't know specifically about Trail's End.

86 was clean, comfortable and fine. 90 was larger and nicer. No issues with either. Our group has moved to some larger cabins or we would return to Nantahala.

We made a recon trip up a few months back and they looked pretty cool. I'm in #35, stop by and say Howdy. I like old cabins with wood paneling so I was happy to get the "Historic" LOL cabin. (and a fireplace) Lots of ATL folks there this year too.

We are booked again for this year, Tree House 48, I think.

We're staying there this year, and it definitely looks like some cabins are better than others, but I think we got one of the better ones. I can assure you that ending up with a rundown cabin is a risk no matter where you stay. We got stuck with Spider Cabin in Fontana last year.

You might also check with Great Smokys Cabin Rentals, I know the manager and he will be sure to treat any MINI folks right.
