MKO Presents: The 4th Annual Cigar Sampling Salon

I cannot attend MOTD this year, so inioway has graciously stepped in to co-host this event with welshmenwillnotyield. Here is welshie's invitation!

It's almost MOTD time again, and that means that it's also time for the Fourth Annual Cigar Sampling Salon, hosted this year by MKO, inioway, and yours truly, welshmenwillnotyield. As in past years, we shall be located on the Dam Room Porch and steps, right after the Welcome Dinner, on Wednesday night, April 30, from around 8:30 P.M., until whenever it is that we decide to leave.

We are strictly a "meet and greet", informal group of mostly cigar smokers, but we welcome any curious souls [21 yrs. old and over] who might want to sample a cigar and converse with some really great people along the way! We also encourage other smokers to attend our little soiree, but, PLEASE, keep it LEGAL!! We ONLY EXHALE, here at the Cigar Salon!

Please bring your own cigars [and some to share], while we bask in the afterglow of the Welcome Dinner and enjoy the usual friendly chatter as the MOTD attendees come and go all evening. Participants should plan to BYOB, if so desired, to enjoy while smoking.

We have lots of room for sitting on the porch, with its rockers, and/or on the front steps, as well as standing along the railing, as we enjoy our first evening together. Just be sure to dress warmly, as it is usually chilly at night.

As in the past, I'll be bringing some Cuban cigars for those wanting to sample one, as well as a selection of mild-to-medium non-Cubans [flavored and non-flavored] for the inexperienced smokers. All are "hecho a mano" [handmade]. I'll also provide matches and cutters for anyone needing them. The only things lacking are YOU, and your smokes!

In lieu of selling a t-shirt this year, we are selling a nifty MOTD '08, Cigar Salon logo baseball cap, instead, for $20. For those NOT going to MOTD who still would like to order a cap, they can PM me, and I'll let you know what shipping costs will be. NO hat orders will be taken past April 18, 2008, unless you do not mind getting your hat delivered until AFTER MOTD.

We'll be sure to have have a box on hand for anything else you might want to give or purchase [dragon-themed lighters, "golfer's" cigar cutters/cigar stands, and dragon-themed, chromed BIC cigar lighter cases]. All donations or payments collected will be used to benefit United Cerebral Palsy, our charity of choice for 2008.

So, come to the Porch, on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 8:30 P.M., to light up some great cigars for an even greater evening and cause!

MKO, Jeff [welshmenwillnotyield], and Bob [inioway]

BE THERE, or, BE SQUARE!

This was a great event a few years ago. I've gotta make a pre-drive run down to Franklin for my group drive the next morning, but I hope to make it back in time for this.

welshmenwillnotyield 03-21-2008 08:17 AM

You should have PLENTY of time to make your run, because the Cigar Salon isn't until AFTER the Welcome Dinner's over...around 8:30 PM WED.

sounds like a great way to unwind, count me in

You're in! You're in! Just pull up a chair, snip your cigar, light it and let the ash fall where it may!

welshmenwillnotyield 03-25-2008 09:13 AM

Attention all cigar lovers!

We ARE still meeting after the Welcome Dinner, on the Dam Room Porch! For anyone confused as to why we do not have a signup sheet on the Event Planner, it's because we are a "drop-in" event...NO REGISTRATION FEES

So...just COME as you are...have a great time smoking and chatting, AND, PLEASE buy one of our hats to support United Cerebral Palsy!

If you cannot go to MOTD this year, I can take PayPal and will be shipping the hats AFTERWARDS. In that case, feel free to PM me for a price to ship to wherever you live, based on how many hats you plan to purchase. For non-attendees, the price is $20 per hat, plus shipping.

If you DO plan on attending MOTD, I'll have the hats at the Cigar Sampling Salon, Wednesday night, after the Welcome Dinner. If you cannot make the Cigar Salon per se, but are arriving another day and still want to purchase a hat, please PM me so I can give you my Dogwoods cabin number [when I get it], to make your purchase. Each hat costs $20 [shipping NOT included]. Cash only, as I have no credit card means.

FranticFreddy 03-27-2008 01:53 PM

Put me down for a hat. And pass the bourbon please.

Gotta have a hat . . . One please.

welshmenwillnotyield 03-28-2008 08:54 AM

Gotta love that Clover...well, at least until she gets back and gives me the hat list. Then, my work and inioway's REALLY begins! All we need are the hats themselves [they are on order], so we can "git 'er done"!

MINIclo 03-29-2008 02:05 PM

Updated the hat list. Everyone, please tell your pals in the Cigar thread in OT about the hats!

mikecontract 03-29-2008 03:09 PM
